Default Nintendo Wii

I have searched the forum and it seems it has not been talked about.

I want to get the Wii, does any one know when will be the next shipment and where is the best option for me to get? EB, BB, FS or HMV etc...

Thanks!

There is no best option. I personally got mine online using a tool for firefox called c4c. It monitors any website for changes and immediately lets you know. I had it monitor the stock on futureshop.ca and bestbuy.ca

This only works if you are close to a computer though, because once it tells you they have stock in, you only have seconds before they are sold out. They released 35 when I bought mine, and they were gone in 30 seconds. So if your day job has you sitting in front of a computer all day, then this will be your best bet.

Otherwise, no one seems to know when stock is coming into a store. You basically have to get lucky. One salesperson will you give a different answer than the next.

Here is a forum on redflagdeals for wii sightings:

And this thread on that forum is for Calgary:

You clearly haven't searched too hard! There have been plenty of discussions on the Wii. Most of us seem to be without one though.

Played the Wii at a friend's place during a party and man, it's a ton of fun!

Boxing kinda sucks IMO, but bowling and baseball are awesome! Golf is decent too.

I finally got a second nunchuck, so now I can enjoy all the monkey ball games with more than just one player. Get a Wii, you won't be disappointed.

Yeah, there are already plenty of threads on the Wii:

But I guess he wanted to start a specific search and sighting thread.

I'm on the look out for a nunchuck, have the extra remote already. The nunchucks are more difficult to find than the console itself.

Winning Eleven... such an awesome soccer game...

I guess the best way to locate a Wii right now is keep checking the stores.... I am trying to locate a Wii for a friend and some Wii accessories for myself.. no luck in finding ANYTHING... =\... If I see any in stock I will probably pick up a few and sale it to you for listed price ...

I am waiting for black so I have no problems with the wait. Like the DS, they will be plentiful in time.

I was incredibly lucky. I got my Wii about a week after launch. Waited about 10 minutes tops at FS where they had about 40 in stock. Took a while to get a second nunchuk though. Finally got one at Walmart. The console is a ton of fun. Rayman Ravin' Rabbids is my current favourite. It's just a blast to play with friends. Everyone who plays the Wii ends up wanting one.

Good luck!

I have a white DS lite.. so only make sense for me to get a white Wii haha

Raving Rabbids is so much fun... those "running" games gives me such a work out. The carrot juice one is hard!

Can't wait until Mario Party 8 comes out.. that is going to be urber fun!

omg.. can't stop talking about the Wii.

I have the opposite problem where I hold a 2nd nunchuk, but no Wiimote for it. I may just wait for Wii Play to get released, since that comes with a mote.

As for the console, I would suggest the more obscure places such as Rogers Video, or HMV downtown or Zellers. You're more likely to find them there than Future Shop or Best Buy.

Edit: I just bought Elebits the other day. That's a pretty entertaining game too!

Beware of Error Code 51330.

It's been haunting me for awhile now.

When connecting wirelessly to the internet, you may come across error code 51330. It apparently refers to teh fact that there is interference in the signal that your Wii is trying to pick up, and could be things like cell phones, microwaves, or other wireless internet hookups in your community that the nintendo is getting.

Nintendo's advice to recover this is to change the wireless internet channel if you come across multiple wireless signals in the area, because by default most routers are on channel 6.

At any rate, I've tried switching it, and I still can't get my wireless internet for the Wii to work.

And it's really annoying.

Oh phew... An error, but thankfully one that doesn't affect the games or console itself.

I can see why it's a pain though, especially if Wiiconnect24 is always on and keeps losing it's connection, making you change channels to get it back. Hopefully mine will be ok.
