Go Flames Go!!!

First playoff game in 2 years, first time opening at home in the playoffs in 13 years, first time wearing the good jerseys in the playoffs in 25 years, and first time starting the playoffs as first seed in the West in 30 years! I can't wait!!!

That's almost 99% full... 98.4.

Embarrassing?

Nationwide shots of Calgary should be fun tonight with the blizzard right now.

Is the setup at stampede park ready. Anyone there?

Colorado fans on the other site are already salty as they feel they aren't getting enough respect and that their team is way tougher then our team and they're going to lay a physical beating on the Flames.

The Flames match-up extremely well with the Avalanche and should have no problem dominating them, especially at home.

- The Avalanche will clog up the neutral zone to try and force the Flames into dump-and-chase hockey. Don't get frustrated if it doesn't work every time. Stick with the process and you will be rewarded.
- MacKinnon is a top-five one-on-one transition player in the league. He is so explosive so the Flames have to keep good gaps and angles. Shut him down and the Avalanche's only hope is a heroic goaltending performance.
- Mike Smith needs to keep his composure and not try and be a hero behind the net. Lessen defencemen getting run, but you don't have to touch the puck every single time it gets dumped in.
- Regardless of Flames goalie, stay compact with the puck in tight and tighten up laterally. Possible target on Grubauer, though?
I'm really surprised Rittich has a higher percentage than Smith for 5 hole against.

I don't doubt they'll try to play us physically. Outside of a few players, we are pretty soft. That is my main concern for these playoffs (and goaltending). I'm hoping for a meaner Neil and to help out.

*sigh* “Neal.”

And I for one hope that Colorado gets distracted by “being physical.” It will ensure that they don’t have the puck very often.

Oops. I won't even bother to edit. I'll just live with my shame.

Agree, we have shown we can frustrate teams with our speed and skill. I hope we have our power play figured out.

Smith let in a lot between arm and body. That’s just a percentage

The last two years under Gulutzan I was really not watching many Flames games. It was too boring and predictable. This year I have watched almost all games and win or lose this team is fun to watch. I am usually super nervous for playoff games but today am surprisingly relaxed and confident in this team. Go Flames Go
