Looking to replace general anxiety with quiet confidence. Might need to watch some AC video highlights....

I'm pretty nervous on which Flames team will show up tomorrow. They need top line and PP to get going and hopefully Smith/Rittich can make the timely saves.
I think if they give up a early goal - it'll deflate the atmosphere and energy the dome has going into the game. Maybe its because i'm still burned by that 05/06 Flames team.

I've been in this mode since we clinched TBH.
I'm gonna be big bag of anxious nerves tomorrow I think. I don't know how the players handle it. I'd be borderline catatonic the hour before the game.

People need to shake their belief in the Ghost of 2006. There is a world of difference between the 2006 Calgary Flames and the team that will play Game #1 tomorrow. One was the second best team in the entire NHL behind only the Tampa Bay Lightning and their historically good season. The other was the seventh best team in the NHL. One scored 289 goals and has a goal differential of +69. The other scored 218 and had a goal differential of +18. One finished the season with 14 more ROWs and 17 more points than their playoff opponent. The other was only 3 wins and 5 points clear of their opponent, who also outscored them.
This IS NOT the 2006 Calgary Flames. The ending will be better this year.

It’s more pressure, but in a weird way it’s so much easier to be the players in regards to dealing with the nerves vs the hardcore fans. So much easier to have some control over something you care about versus simply not being able to do anything but watch.

That’s a little harsh on the 06 Flames, and as good as he was a little over complimentary to Kipper. Sutter (and Pkayfair actually) coached teams were very tight defensively, nit just because of goaltending. But that 06 team was offensively dificient, very different from this years team.
That 06 team was probably still a playoff team without Kipper, assuming he was being replaced with average goaltending, but agreed they were not a division leader without him.

Can you imagine if Kipper showed up for one of this year's games? We need to pull a page out of Vegas or Nashville and get some big names to fire up the crowd (instead of Harvey banging on that stupid drum in Red Corner). The C of Red would go insane.
Ken King: Pretty please if we make the finals?

Fyp, since he is one.
When people go to his pizza pig outs are they nice and gracious to him? Or do they roast him like they should. I eagerly await the day when he is openly challenged publicly/ on camera.

Agreed, they were up by 11 points. I think they still make it with average NHL goaltending. But I guess who cares, I agree this is a different team, a much truer division leader. If we don’t win our first round match up (which will still be difficult, all playoff series are) it will likely be due to inexperience in the playoffs, although lots of our key players have been to the playoffs before.

Just purchased my 1st ever playoff ticket.
I've been to champions league games etc but I am so excited to go tomorrow. Since I moved to canada 11 years ago I have loved hockey and more importantly the Flames, I have probably 95% of games on the TV since I moved
I am so excited to go tomorrow and hopefully my foreman is forgiving because I wont get one bit of work done
Go flames go

The good thing is that if he pissed off at you it won't matter. You wont be able to understand what he is a saying for days after the Dome blows its lid tomorrow.
