Sharks were on one of those losing streaks that you dont' want to be facing a team in the midst of. Once you get up to 10 losses in a row or something like that, its just a matter of odds that they have to win one.

Nice to see the Sharks take a bite out of their Cali rivals though.

well the Sabres have lost a few in a row but were competitive tonight with Curtis Sanford between the pipes. All 3 goals of the game were on special teams including the teams exchanging SH goals in the 3rd. Greg Devries went down with an injury .

well the Sabres have lost a few in a row , but that was a competitive game especially with backup Curtis Sanford between the pipes. A funny game as all 3 goals were on special teams, including the teams exchanging SH goals in the third. Unfortunate to lose Devries to an injury in this one.

Paul Raisin finally gets his win. Was that Sharks losing streak the longest ever in CPHL history?

OUCH!

7-2 loss to the Greasers! Gotta stay out of the box. Oilers went 3 for 7 on PPs. Not to mention giving up a shout handed goal to open the scoring.

The Coyotes have decided that this game was so bad that every Yotes fan that produces a ticket stub from todays game will be refunded 50% of its face value.

Bright spots
No injuries!
Rucinsky continues his point scoring streak.

The Ducks came up with a strong defensive game in a 1-1 battle with the Flames after several poor games that appeared to be more along the lines of a road hockey game with all offense and no defense or very little defense at the best of times.

The addition of Hecht and Samuelson should give the team abit more added punch while at the same time not lacking on the other end of the ice.

GM Jurgensen has high hopes for the team in the next several games and now only time will tell.

Canadiens continue to get good results from their powerplay units. Hitting on 2 out of 5 opportunities brings the clubs PP success rate to 38% since the Christmas break. In four games the Habs have notched 7 pp goals in 18 chances. During the same stretch the Habs have killed off all 11 shorthanded situations.

Special teams are how we are winning right now, commented Coach Gainey. We are actually losing games 5 on 5 right now. If it weren't for our special teams we'd be in a lot of trouble. We are continuing to experiment with different line combinations.

In many ways, we have a lot of very talented players, by switching things up, we are able to keep all our players fresh. However, we need to start winning the 5-5 match-ups. We can't always rest on the success of our special teams.

Leafs get a rare point against the Howe. Lundqvist was solid in his first game as the official #1 goalie. Leafs were dominant early, but gave it away as the game went on.

The new-look Avs still struggling to find some chemistry. Modin bails them out with two goals and they settle for a point vs the Leafs.

Kolzig wins Pens to win
Ollie the goalie had a strong effort stooping 27 shots and it was enough to get the Pens a much needed 2 points. The injury riddled Pens earned their 5th point of the weekend with a tight 3-2 win over division rival Nords. The win was important as it now gives the Pens a 5 point cushion on the 8th place Bolts and a 10 point cushion on the 9th place Isles. Chris Clelios had a huge game with 3 assists and Jason Spezza buried his league leading 17th goal in the game.

Jets win their 2nd in a row. Kapanen and Ribeiro continue their strong play. David Moss recorded his first cphl assist and Pascal Leclaire was solid. The Jets have lost Sebastien Caron to the Nucks and have sent Kyle Cumisky down to the farm and have recalled Jussi Timonen.
