Agreed. Are playoff flags a Calgary phenomenon? I don't recall seeing them much before 2004 when they exploded during the playoff run.


A google search suggests other teams might do something similar, but I feel it is something that has deeper roots here...

I think it was a mid-2000’s fad (car flags), and we just happened to have the Cinderella run the same time, so it’s nice and cemented into our fabric.

I just bought mine, but it drives me nuts driving at any decent speed with the plastic base bouncing on the window and the flag slapping the roof, which I'm sure will screw up the paint as well. Think I'm going to restrict putting mine on for gamedays only at low speeds

I had similiar problems on one of my cars so I rigged one up on my radio antenna, and zip ties it to the roof rack of my ex's car.

There are ways around it,taking the flag off entirely isn't one of them

I've seen some that have a little piece of foam attached on the back to reduce noise; on mine I just used some hockey tape on the plastic base to "deaden" any noise caused by the hard plastic vibrating against the glass.

Yeah, I was thinking wrapping some duct tape would cure that problem. Not sure what to do about his problem with the flag hitting the paint but I've actually never seen anyone have that problem.
