I've liked Mangiapane over any of the other AHL kids since training camp, thought he showed a lot of jam and had the right amount of AHL experience to make the jump. He's been a little underwhelming most of the year, but has turned it up and exceeded my expectations to finish the year.

He's also dispelled the myth that young guys need to be put in the top 6 in order to produce. Most of the goals I've seen him score are solely due to his great shot and good positioning, not who he was playing with

I believe Rantanen has been dealing with a hernia (midsection), but all indications are however that he will be ready to go for game #1.

Mikko Rantanen looks good to go for game 1. Bednar wont commit to Philipp Grubauer as the starter but...come on. Video work on Calgary began today as they start to get in-depth with the systems studies.
