Flames in 5. There is a big gap between the Flames and Avs.

I hope flames in 5, only because im being selfish as I fly into Calgary at 4:30pm on Friday the 19th so I am hoping I can take a cab straight to the red mile in my flames jersey and get absolutely knackered

The Flames should take this - shut down one line and basically you have it.

Our goaltending is weaker, but Smith has at least been better since about February. I am more worried that our PP has been ice cold as of late. Hopefully that can get rolling along with the first line so we can be better setup for round 2.

Flames in 5.

One thing I’ll be looking for is Lindholm hopefully rediscovering some of that early season magic. We’ll need that for a long run I’d think.

Not if you wander over to HF, where judging by the posts there the Avs seem to be favoured.

Have a feeling that mike smith will make this series much closer than it should be

This is my biggest worry heading into round 1. Lately the PP seems to be showing residual effects of the Cameron years, and that could be a problem in the playoffs. I'm sure the coaching staff is well aware that they're gonna need to practice the hell out of it over the next few days and somehow get it fixed before game 1.

Silver lining though: Colorado's PK is worse than ours (25th), so hopefully that'll work in our favor.

One never knows, but I have a bad feeling Smith is going to raise the spectre of Brian Elliott.

Something would have to go horribly wrong for it to end in a sweep, but it may drag out to 7 games on the back of some questionable goals.

It's been almost three decades since the Flames won a series with home ice advantage so history has not been kind to this team in this situation. If I'm going with my head I would say Flames in 6 games but I would not be shocked to see the Avs pull the upset in 7 games if the Smith and Rittich are shaky.

I'll go with Flames in 5 or 6. The MacKinnon line worries me but if we can play them well then I think we'll be fine.

That top line is frightening, but this is a series where Calgary's depth is a massive advantage.

I'm less worried about McKinnon and company than I would be about Benn and Seguin. At least the Flames have shown this year that they can play the McKinnon line well and beat them.

The key to winning this series will be the Flames' ability to attack in waves and roll 4 lines. As long as Calgary brings their A game, I don't think Colorado will be able to contain them.

This is gonna be a good series. Looking forward to some fast pace end-to-end action. Can't wait to it starts.
