I don't really mind if the Oilers win the first overall pick, since they'll still suck and that'll be hilarious. I hope they either lose the lottery or pick first.

Technically, we didn't really care about last year's draft either, since we traded the pick to NYI for Hamonic.

But I'm not worried about Edmonton winning first overall. Look at the Oilers after Connor McDavid plus their 3 other first overall picks (Hall, RNH, Yakupov). If the 2019 1OA manages to actually make the team better, then that makes McDavid expendable, because having McDavid couldn't do it.

Oiler fans will start fawning over their newest shiny toy.

Would be the 2nd time they've screwed themselves by winning a meaningless game 82 against the Flames.

Last time it was getting Gagner instead of Patrick Kane.

This might be an off-the-board pick but I kind of hope Minnesota wins. God knows that team could use some young talent up front, and perhaps if they had it they wouldn't have to play the kind of game that puts people to sleep.

I guess more than anything I just want some reason to not avoid watching games against the Wild.

The Oilers have drafted #1 overall 4 times in less than a decade and still suck like hell.

Go for 5. I dont care. They'll still suck. Its like theres something in the water...

If anything its like seeing a trust-fund kid who has every advantage in the world constantly fail. As someone who has to work for everything theres something satisfying about it.
