I think our goalies have been quite solid this year for the most part, especially Rittich who has had a terrific season. Smith clearly had a rough go of it, especially in the first half. But he's been fantastic down the stretch and has earned the start for game 1 IMO.

The goalies have been better than people are giving them credit for, outside of Smith's first month and a half and Rittich's February.
And before you look longingly at the guy at the other end (as per usually), remember that we lit him up with 6 against just on Friday.

He may be on some team, but here we have Bennett, Janko, Neal, Mangi, Hathaway, Ryan. He is not bumping any of these guys out.

Al MacInnis won his Norris Trophy score 60+ points on a team where Jamie Mclennan played 33 games...and the other goaltender was 39 year old Grant Fuhr.
That team finished 7 goals from 8th in the league in GA.

I'm saying Fuhr and Noodles sucked, but on the strength of team D and a norris calibre season, two goalies with sub 900 save percentages could have a low team GA.

Is a 12th F on the Oiler or Kings an NHLer? Probably debatable.
He has a good shot. And then nothing else. And he is really small. Not a good 4th line fit. Don't think the Flames will have him in the lineup next year.
