Ticketmaster explicitly states they can adjust 'face value' at any time so I'm sure the prices will be jumping up and down all week long. Fricking garbage.

They actually say their pricing is similar to airline tickets and that its based on supply/demand.

Face value is absolutely insane this year:

Red 2 face value: $348.00

vs.

my Red 2 reason ticket holder tickets of $197.59.

I guess it pays to be a season ticket holder for playoffs, but I find that difference to be insane. In a deep playoff run, a season ticket holder could probably recoup 25 - 35% of the regular season amounts just by selling around face value.

$197 is your price for round 1, or reg season?

Either way, I think it's great that ticketmaster and the Flames are coming out high and will adjust based on supply and demand. This prices out the scummy resellers, who used to set the market. Now they're price takers. If STH can recoup a bunch of their regular season costs and want to skip the playoffs, that's totally great for them as well.

It's really a win win for flames fans and the team alike. I don't know why people are complaining about this (not saying you are, well maybe a little).

I am also in Red 2, this is what I paid as a STH per seat (Regular season was $125/seat):

Round 1: $197 (TM FV $348)
Round 2: $227 (TM FV $???)

I have my playoff tickets in my season ticket holder account. It doesn't give me the option to print or sell yet, just transfer......Yet ticketexchange now has resale listings.
I think this is the Flames selling there for higher prices....some of the listings are 10 in a row.

As for fluctuating face value, I hate it. As a buyer, what a pain in the ass it is to search and wait for the best non-reseller price. How frustrating is it to buy tickets in the Whites today for $280, and then maybe see them next week at $190?

As a buyer, I like to know I bought for the Face Value the Flames set as the value, and know that I can do that now or later, availability permitting.

This isn't the Flames reselling their own tickets. These are ticket brokers/sellers that have agreements with the reselling company to sell their tickets there, even when not in hand. You'll see them listed there before the season as well, even when us STHs haven't received our tickets yet.

All this reminds me of the article the former CEO of TicketMaster wrote for TheRinger. TL;DR we're all screwed:

I talked to my Rep today and whites are definitely $280/ticket. It is not a fluctuating price.

Gotta say though the fan experience in playoffs vs regular season is better by about 1,000,000 times.

Did they release tickets for game 3 as well? I thought it was just 1 and 2.

Are they still there? I didn’t get any codes today because I’m not a STH. I will tomorrow through the insider subscriber list.

Goodness gracious. Those are steep. I remember when nosebleeds were $25 or something through Sportcheck. Yeah...those days are gone.

I think he meant in Colorado (and how they're more affordable).

But also yes, you had the option of using your code on Home Game A, B and C* (if required).

Does anyone know if Coop still has their section of tickets during the playoffs or is it just regular season? I think I recall them doing doing a lottery draw the day before each game last playoff run. You had to be there in person during the draw in order to buy tickets. I haven't been to Coop since the weekend so I haven't seen anything for the playoffs yet.
