The NCAA Tournament starts today. The rest of the way is all single-elimination. Once Harvard loses, their season is over.
They are the underdog in today's game against UMass. If they win today, they'll again be the underdog against their opponent on Saturday. If they can win on Saturday, they'll be in the Frozen Four, which starts on April 11 (with the Final on April 13).

Harvard was shutout 4-0, which means that Fox's season is over. We should find out by Monday if he's going to sign with the Canes or return for his senior year.

It's really too bad that Hamilton and Ferland might not work out with the signings. But if it works out, it will be a fair deal IMO. As for Fox, sounds like he's gonna be another one of those prospects that thinks too highly of himself. Let him go to New York where he'll end his career there. Hope the lights will inspire him there.

Um, excuse me? GMs were more than happy to trade with Darryl after seeing the return he got for Phaneuf...

IMO Darryl was a mediocre GM but it was somewhat masked by the fact that he was a Hall of Fame level coach.

Although I will say he was pretty good at contracts. Like the Kipper deal was so good, the NHL made deals like it illegal LOL

I am only half listening, but I think Friedman just said that he is going back to Harvard for year 4.

The funny thing is that there will probably a top 4 spot on RD in Calgary available at the end of next year with Hamonic, Brodie and Stone all becoming UFA’s that off season. I know the general thought is he will be choosing a team in New York but would the Flames even be allowed to offer him a deal once he became a UFA??
Giordano - Andersson
Hanifin - Hamonic
Valimaki - Fox

Canes have been informed.
News UpdatePierre LeBrun @PierreVLeBrun
Hearing that the Hurricanes have been informed Adam Fox isn't likely to sign with them, that a trade would be the desired route, and I'm guessing the Rangers would top the d-man's list. Carolina looking at its options...
Pierre LeBrun
@PierreVLeBrun
Obviously would be better for Fox to have the trade happen sooner than later so he can sign and burn first year of entry-level deal. On other hand, the 'Canes have to do what's right for them. Trading him soon or waiting until summer?
Pierre LeBrun @PierreVLeBrun
And I suppose you always have to keep the door open that Fox changes his mind and signs with Carolina in the end ... we shall see...

The Rangers? Wow, Aaron Fox is really mixing in all the classics here. Will Roman Horak be part of the return?

It can't be overstated just how lame it is when these college FAs, european FAs and NHL FAs run to New York.

Problem is:
A) why would the Rangers trade any assets for his negotiating rights when they seem like the team Fox is interested in signing with already?
B) why would any other team part with assets when it seems like a forgone conclusion he'll go to free agency, and ultimately the Rangers?
Carolina might just be left holding the bag.

Can he be traded now? Does the trade deadline not apply to unsigned players?
