I would assume emergency call ups will be used for "injuries"

From TSN and the Canadian Press,

"SAN JOSE, Calif. — The Calgary Flames scored three times in less than two minutes late in the first period on their way to clinching the top spots in the Western Conference and the Pacific Division with a 5-3 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Sunday night.

, , , and all scored for Calgary, which won for the eighth time in 11 games. The Flames will have home-field advantage throughout the Western Conference playoffs.

It's the first time in 13 years that the Flames have won their division..."

Credit goes to the organization.
1)They messed up in the way they handed Sutters departure.

2)It lead to the most embarassing time to be a Flames fan with a windbag used car salesman in charge, fumbling his way through the Penske file as GM.

3)Owners realized their mistake just in time, and hired Burke to bring back creditlbilty to the organization around the league, for players, agents, other execs.

4)Burke hired Treliving. Treliving has made his mistakes with players and coaches but also owned up to them and corrected them in short order and never dwelled on it.

5)Honorable mention to Carolina switching ownership. As soon as that occurred, Treliving took the finger off the fire GG button last Feb, and had Peters informally hired already. Addition, taking on a streaky player and a dressing room distraction for the player picked before Mono and then Hanifin was also a treat.

6)Peters should be coach of the year. Hanifin and Lindholm, although part of the culture change and style change, did not make the difference between this year and last. It was using 3/4 of the same roster of last year, but getting each player to play to their strengths and playing a style that compliments thier players skill level, brains, skating ability and hockey sense. An intelligent style based on aggressiveness and discipline in aggressiveness, in all zones. Players embrace it, flourish in it, develop within it, all thanks to Peters and his coaches implement, teaching, and adapting in gsme and in season.

The fans should be proud of this team and this organization for a remarkable season. Playoffs get harder sure, but the way this team has won games, it will have a very good chance in every series if they stick to what thier coaches have preached to them and implemented for them.

The most complete team in my opinion since 1990, and that's without 100% confidence in either goalie, to boot.

Looking forward to the month ahead and beyond.

Glad to see folks getting stuck into their good whisky. Regardless of your tipple I hope everyone is having a great night and taking a few moments to let this sink in. It’s been a long road since the rebuild process kicked off in 2013, and one that the diehard fans (this board) have been invested in more than most people will understand. Here’s to Gio and the boys. Slainte.
