Preferred Playoff Opponent *NEW POLL! (Updated 29 March)
I messed up when attempting to revise the poll on Pete Moss's thread. Sorry!
So, I have closed that thread and am re-directing to this new thread with a new poll.
- Vegas Golden Knights
- Colorado Avalanche
- Dallas Stars
- Arizona Coyotes
- Minnesota Wild
Even if you have voted in the other poll, please be sure to vote in this one to keep things current.

Colorado or Arizona. Luckily they're the two most likely anyway

Coyotes. Kuemper can't keep this magic act up and the Flames have dominated the Coyotes this season.
Flames have also dominated the Avs, so they are a close second.
Really, I'm confident against either opponent. Also the Wild. But prefer the Coyotes.

Hmmm. I seem to have forgotten to make the poll public when I opened this new one, and cannot figure out how to change that after the fact.
In any event, I picked Colorado. It will be a more entertaining series than all of the others, and is one that the Flames could realistically win in four or five games.

Even with the update, I'm sticking to my original answer of an Eastern Conference team.
(for the sake of the poll I'm putting the last option as it's the closest to my desire)

I feel like (and not basing this off anything other than my own eye test) that Arizona is more of the same ilk as a Dallas, or a St. Louis. A team that could frustrate us and bottle us up (like we've seen the past 2 games). Where as Colorado reminds me more of the Eastern type teams (Islanders, Hurricanes) who we don't seem to have as much trouble with.
I think style of play caters to preferring Colorado, but only by a slim margin.
They are still my top 2 choices either way. Its weird being in a situation where our preferred opponents are also our more likely opponents, and the teams we want to avoid (Dallas, Vegas) are very unlikely.
The season of things going our way can just keep going on until June, that would be just fine thanks.

Prefer Arizona but I like our chances against them or Colorado. Minnesota I think would be okay too.
Honestly I’m not even afraid of Vegas. I think they’re beatable. I don’t want to meet Dallas or St. Louis.

Colorado - likely chance of the Flames getting into the second round of playoffs. Also the Flames vs Colorado is likely more entertaining than the Wild or the Coyotes.

Getting way ahead of myself but I think ideally my path goes Colorado, San Jose, Nashville - as far as getting to the final.

That’ll be a 4 goalie series.

I would prefer the Coyotes as I feel they would be hard pressed to win over a 7 game series with the talent disparity between the teams. Avs have a few players that could get hot and cause some damage but the Flames have had success against them.

If the flames don’t get out their funk it won’t matter who they play.
I’d rather they play Arizona but it’s probably going to be Colorado. As for Vegas I think the best time to play Vegas is actually in the first round before they get up a head of steam.

Even amid their funk the Flames can win a first round series over teams like Arizona and Colorado.
As for VGK, their success hinges on MA Fleury, and I think the longer he plays the better the opportunity to beat him. Even though he hasn't played for two weeks he has already started 59 games. Fleury has played a tonne of hockey in the past calendar year, and I think there is a chance that he could burn out in May.

COL makes me nervous all of a sudden. Their speed game and Nathan MacKinnon alone could win a playoff series.
