That’s crazy I obviously haven’t been to university in a while. I think it was $35 once the heath and dental and bus passes were gone.

Must have graduated over 15 years ago or you just didn’t pay attention.
Was almost $200 of non opt outable cost 11 years ago.

Notley loves to get her ministers to do her dirty work. Mason doing the press release on the websites, Hoffman to apologise for using the Chinook hospital for campaign purposes and now this.

Just Hoffman trying to score some cheap political points for her party. I'm surprised she didn't call Kenney a "sewer rat."

My observations here in Edmonton are that many ridings have one candidate who is massively outworking their opponents on the ground. Some are UCP, some are NDP. One from the AP.
So far it's a one horse race. The other campaigns have to get their act together and catch up.
Other candidates will have to do more than try to tweet their way to victory.

Kenney responded to questions about the allegations at a news conference on Wednesday.
"I've talked about how the leadership election committee had very vigorous rules that we complied with fully, and I'll just refer you back to the statements made by Robyn Henwood, who's the chair of the leadership election committee, who has repeatedly confirmed that there's no evidence of campaigns violating the rules," he said.
"All of those responsible for actually running the election say that it was a clean election. There was no violation of the rules."

Yeah just over 15 years ago.
How do you differentiate between Student Umion costs and other university fees. I took a look at the U of S and U of A websites and it looks like a lot of the referendum fee items that the U of A has in are things the UofS charged for rather than the Students Union.
What really shocked me was the total fees are almost 2k now. Tuition inflation looked pretty reasonable but those additional fees are crazy.

The only thing that she has been good for is as a bullet shield for Notley. I've been watching TV tonight and there have been about a half a dozen Jason Kenney is the devil incarnate ads on TV.
The problem with this is it really makes the NDP look amateur, afraid and without substance.
I haven't seen a whole ton of ads on TV from the other parties yet.

For a party that has been waiting to govern for a couple years, the UCP is surprisingly slow on imaginative policy and disclosing the party platform on high profile issues. Bringing out the 'tough on crime' stuff seems tired and very uninspiring.

Disagree. Their platform is comprehensive and long. Then look at Notley’s and it’s short and safe not to anger any voters i guess. For someone who’s been running a province for four years, you’d think she would have more depth and ideas on alberta’s future.

Go to their website and look at their twitter account, they've done a lot of platform release thus far while the NDP haven't really released much, and their platform is a lot more then tough of crime stuff.
Like them or hate them, they're far ahead of the NDP who are stuck in a one gear negative campaign.

Thus far all I've seen so far from the NDP isn't as much a comprehensive platform as we're going to spend billions more that we don't have.

It was like
Candidate Name
Part of Rachel Notley team
NDP

i did look at their website. Running down the list as you scroll its 'tough on crime' repeal the carbon tax, repeal the farm bill, common sense education, lower the minimum wage for youth, lower taxes .... as i see it, there is a lot of 'reverse' NDP policy and then the usual conservative policies that Kenney is familiar with from his time in Ottawa.
Ideas like building another egress from Fort McMurray may cost money, but anyone who has to drive to and from Ft Mac will agree that's a damn good idea. same deal with more flood mitigation for Calgary. IMHO these are proposals for real problems.
the UCP platform is the same old tired stuff. just saying, it may bite them in the end.

Look, I'm not going to get into this massive debate, but did you actually drill in on those campaign platforms, or just scroll through the page? Because a lot of their platform has been explained.

Which really begs the question why any UCP candidate is reserving debating until April 11 when other parties are good to go (I am referring to the Schweizter/Clark/Eremenko debate tommorow, where Schweitzer said "platforms will be released by then"). If so much is released and people are going to be asking questions of their candidate during election period. Has there been any direct debates between candidates yet?

Yes i did. For example - on repeal bill 6 the narrative is all reversing NDP policy. I'm not seeing the 'explanation' you see. likewise the 'common sense' education is repeal NDP stuff and then continue with what was proposed in 2014 as the Education Act. Pretty uninspiring stuff. It won't sway the undecided.

Why debate without full platforms?
I mean we all know why you are pushing this, but how can a candidate answer all the questions the people who show up actually want to hear?
I mean so far I can tell that doesn’t matter for the NDP but...
