It is not a right as much as we all wish it was, including myself.

Most people would say you and I have a right to breath but as Hussien found out, that can be taken away too. So I guess, in your world, breathing is a privilege.

Nice comparison....
Last I looked, the right to live was sanctioned by the UN and almost every other democratic nation.
The right to drive....not so much so.

You tried to say driving was not a right because it could be taken away from us. I was pointing out that our lives could be taken also, so your logic is not so much good.
As far as driving goes, we all have the right to get a driving license at some point as we all have the right to life. If we don't obey societies rules, well we can lose either. I look at cars as an extension or improvement on the horse. I'm sure in the olden days no one ever questioned the right to own and ride a horse. So history would appear to be on my side. They would be limited by money, time to care for it and feed, just like any right. It's why they changed the law to make marriage open to everyone, it's a right. Doesn't mean it's not limited by somone wanting to marry you. This 'privilege' brainwashing is crap fed to us by those with an agenda wanting to limit our rights.

Blind people dont have the right to drive, BUT, they DEFINATELY have the right to live. Totally two different things.

Everybody has the right to drive and every right has limitations. When a right is changed to a privilege, than you have an unequal society. The word privilage denotes special status or advantage. Look it up.

When the overwhelming majority of normal people do something, I wouldn't call that a special status or advantage. I'd call it a right.

Your use of you're in 'your wrong' shows your understanding. What is that 'a Freudian slip', too funny, anyways I'm tired of beating my head against the wall.I hereby give you 'special' status.

I think there's a reason why Trudeau didn't include driving in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms- because it ISN'T ONE.
Just because people have the ability to do something, in this case get a drivers licence, it doesn't make it their right. The fact that they can be refused or that the 'priviledge' can be taken away is evidence of this.
Unlike the 'rights' proposed in the CCRF- those are rights EVERYONE ENJOYS and can never be refused or taken away (with the exception of liberty and/or search and seizure but always in accordance with the principles of fundemental justice).

I guess that the suspension of Senior's drivers licences is age discrimination then?

When the overwelming majority of people are permitted to do something I would call it more of a privilage than a right, as they still need to be permitted to drive on Alberta's roads. It doesn't matter if it is 1% of the population or 99% of the population a privilage is still a privilage the number of people that are impacted by said privilage does not change the nature of what it is - a privilage.
Past that if it was a right that people have phyiscal disabilites such as those who are hearing impared or who are legally blind, suffer from a number of age related ailments (dymentia for instance) they are all banned from driving on the roads.

Let me guess, none of you looked up the word 'privilege', eh.
As far as Trudeau weakening English Common Law with his Bill of Rights, that was another lose of our rights.
