That's by necessity because his linemates aren't as great at setting him up as he is setting them up. Whenever he's had superior playmakers to play with (Hudler, MacKinnon and Matthews at the WC) he's shown a different level of "away from puck" goalscoring.

Fair point, but Gaudreau did have that snipe from the slot set up by Ryan against Columbus. The thing I like the most about the new top line is the potential pace this line can play with and it has 2 worker bees who can get on forecheck quickly, win puck battles and grind in the corners to maintain possession. Should give Gaudreau more time and chances to create plays and break down defenses. We’ve also seen some chemistry between Lindholm and the 3M line. Very intrigued for the upcoming game.

Jiri Hudler's career high in assists match what Monahan sits at this season, 45. Hudler only every had three seasons of 30+ assists, Monahan's hit that mark five seasons in a row.

I think Neal-Monahan-Bennett can get both Neal and Mony going since Bennett tends to get into the trenches and can potentially get Mony and Neal more engaged

Backs and Lindholm jive well on 4v4 and the PK. So adding Johnny to the equation could be insane.

Would be interesting to see Tkachuk, Neal and Monahan. On a line.

Does anyone honestly think that after 70+ games, no-hands slow as hell James Neal is all of a sudden going to 'start going'?

Yup. I do. Only he can prove me wrong in the playoffs.

I think he could, and I am not prepared to say that he won't.

James Neal had seven points in his last 16 games before being injured, so no, I don't think it outlandish that he could maintain or even improve a little on that pace.

Calling someone 'no-hands' after they have posted 10 straight 20-goal seasons makes it difficult to take your post seriously.

It’s almost like things can change over a decade!

Did Iginla have good hands towards the end too?

He had 20 last year.

It's not like anyone is arguing that he was really good in 2013.

Also, Iginla was 38/39 at the end. Neal is 31.

Monahan 3rd line C confirmed?

Some CPers will be gleeful.

He still has decent hands at the 40 second mark.

Danny Austin @DannyAustin_9
#Flames Sean Monahan on how he's not playing great right now

Bennett and Monahan together. 2 players whose play dies on their sticks in the offensive zone. Throw in a little James Neal and that line will have no offensive zone time all night.
