Yeah and if you read my point, you would’ve noticed I said he’s been the best of the bunch. It's hard for him to carry a line by himself. He’s creating opportunities for himself and linemates, but they’re not finishing.

Hathaway has as many GWG as W. Nylander has goals this season.

Thought we did a great job with Pettersson tonight. I don't think I noticed him outside of when Rasmus or Hathaway were bullying him.

He had a chance down the side at one point and I think Gio pressured him into losing the puck pitifully into the corner.

I had let up my hate for the blue dirtbags since they have been so pathetic over the last few years. Not anymore. Loser AHL team gifted Pettersson. Should have run Markstrom after the slash. Run him hard. **** the canucks. Hope you miss the playoffs the next 5 years.

Monahan hasn't put in a good performance effort wise in 4-5 weeks, I love the guy but the criticism is fair. Lindy has looked out of gas lately too, and Johnny getting double teamed has been a bad look. Them taking all of that on has clearly opened things up for the other lines but we need them to start finding open ice again if we're hoping to go multiple rounds in the playoffs.

I love the Canucks fans take on Randorf.

How did that guy get a job commentating on a national sports channel?

Monahan is virtually unnoticeable in tight checking games and it’s infuriating. He’s the team’s #1 sniper and he’s got what, 2 goals in the last 17 games?
Monahan has goals in 4 straight playoff games.

I get the frustration with Mony’s recent production but you can’t really say he doesn’t show up in big or tight checking games.

Is there anywhere I can see the slash on Tkachuk and the hit on Smith? Had to miss the last half of the game tonight.

Love Virtanen’s fly by on Gio for the 3rd goal that you teach novice players to not do.

Jake “I got this” Virtanen.

Absolutely nothing wrong with calling out the first line for lack of production the past few weeks.

Since the Jersey explosion where they combined for 14pts, our first line has only 3 points in the past 5 games.

But this is what is a call for optimism.

With our top line sputtering we are still 4-1 with 19 GF and 7 GA. The 3M line is back and our 4th line is dominating. I choose to believe our top line will be ready for the playoffs, but even if they are neutralized, we have the depth to make up for it.

Depth wins cups.

Flames have given up 18 goals against in the last 9 games - they have really tightened it up defensively. And just in time for the playoffs.

I thought Brodie had a really good game. And Fantenberg-Andersson are becoming a solid (second) second-pairing. And Giordano was in full God-mode last night.

Last year the D had 40G-106A-146P. This year they are already at 42-140-182. The line in the sand for playoff teams is 150 points from the D - almost all the teams that hit 150 make it, and most of the teams that don't hit 150 don't.

Oh, and if you're interested, the Oilers are at 28-99-127

Gio in God-mode and our 4th line also in GAwD mode. This is why I call them our GAwD line as it equates to a W when they dominate the opposing lines.

I don’t recall how many chances they got but I’ve really liked how PP2 has moved the puck in the last little while.
Actually special teams have been good. PP results might not be showing it but it’s created momentum and looked dangerous

I will give the canucks one thing, the effort is there and they played like it was a must win game, they just couldn't handle what the Flames threw at them. I will say that their give a F meter is noticeably higher than what we see up north.

They very much play a bend don't break and try to capitalize on their chances, but the Flames really limited them. The key for the Flames is that second goal to make it a two goal lead, which has been challenge with Markstrom.

At the end of the day I am glad the season series is over. It is always a little more satisfying when your win over your rival is one of the last nails in that coffin in terms of their playoff aspirations.
