Gio riding a 6 game point streak (1+6). Would love to see him finish up on a heater so that Burns isn't too far ahead points-wise. Then his defensive play will take him over the top for the Norris.

That story was set in the 40s or 50s, wasn’t it? When they actually were sweaters.

LOL...yeah it refers to Pat Ryan but also very much refers to probably the greatest pitcher of all time as well...that was his nickname.

Nolan Ryan finished a legendary career that spanned four decades as arguably the greatest power pitcher of all-time.

Quote:
He broke into the majors with the New York Mets in 1965, where he would establish himself as a hard-throwing, right-handed pitcher with big-time potential. During this time, the New York media gave him the nickname “The Ryan Express” in reference to the 1965 film “Von Ryan’s Express.” The name stuck, and would become a commonly used phrase by sportscasters throughout his career.
Wills just talking about it now with Klein.

Eat Hath's Ry Bread

Doc Hath Bread

That's the best I got. You can't name an entire line after one player.

Although, I don't think you can pencil him in as an everydayer just yet, Mangiapane is a really nice story. I wrote him off earlier in the year, it just didn't look like he projected as an NHLer. He kind of reminded me of Granlund in a way. Not slick enough to be in the top six and not gritty or big enough to take on a bottom six role.

Now look at him. For a guy his size he plays a pretty gritty game, and he battles hard. With that his skillset is starting to show though.

Before he looked like a guy on the bubble, now in the hopes of a long playoff run and the inevitable injuries that come with it, you can see him as a guy who can elevate in the lineup.

Under the topic of a youth movement on the squad, the guys on D take up most of the conversation and rightfully so. But the Mangiapane story is an underrated one.

I'm curious what his ceiling may be.

The more I see him play the more I think he has 2nd line winger potential. He’s making time and space for himself and making skilled passes. His shot is really good too. I think as opportunities present themselves for him to have a bigger role, he’ll thrive. He might see some 2nd unit power play time down the stretch.

What a perfect birthday.

Flames hammer the Sens.

Sharks blow a lead in the 3rd and lose in regulation.

Great day all around.

It is good to see the 4th line get on a roll the last few games. Also have to love Tkachuk. He had gone missing a few weeks back, but he is still a young fellow and every one has slumps.

34 goals this year. That's absolutely amazing.

Mom used to make us peanut butter and jam sandwiches. I would get her to also put butter on it, because.

My mom used to butter my toast and then put jam on it. I didn't like it very much but I ate it.

C'mon now, Scorp. She's still doing it, isn't she? Why don't you just tell her?

You’re missing out.

Also forget the jam and get a bit of maple syrup in there.

Maybe when I turn twelve I'll start making my own breakfasts!
