You think Fleury would have made a lick of difference in that game? Not a chance.

didn't the flames beat fleury in game 82 of last season? completely meaningless game, but still...
pretty cool that the flames are the only team to beat vegas in their last 10, soundly, no less, and against a goalie that other teams seem to struggle against. they also deserved at least a point in the game in vegas against MAF if not for completely disgraceful officiating. i think flames could beat vegas, still best to let them and sj duke it out round 1.

Knights fans are likely saying the same thing about the Flames, as are many other teams I'd bet.

You don't think a guy the Flames have managed to score one goal against in 120 minutes of hockey would have made a difference?

Just the blowout last year before the playoffs. Every other game Fleury has been rock solid against us.

After losing our 7 point edge on SJS we have been gifted a bit of a window of opportunity. Need wins v Columbus and Ottawa this week.

Note my comment regarding Fleury. They've roasted them twice with Subban in net and in both games he looked terrible in the first period. That ain't happening with Fleury.
The Flames are a good team and I'm not saying the Knights are invincible but they are the biggest threat in the western conference to any team, whether thats the Flames, Sharks, Jets or Preds.

The 7-1 win in the last home game of last season. Jankow had 4 goals that night.

Not saying the Flames couldn't have won if Fleury played. The Backlund goal doesn't go in on Fleury though and the Knights probably play way more confidently in front of Fleury vs. Subban.
Being Flames fans we should know how poor goaltending can affect the the team in front of them.

Subban allowed a bad goal, and the Flames scored another two that no one stops in that period. There remaining two goals were part of a relentless barrage. Like I said, Fleury would have made a negligible difference that night.

The Flames are the ones who knock.

I just don't think you can say that Fleury wouldn't have made a difference. There are so many factors that go into playing with your starter vs. a back up. Especially when the difference is one of the best in the game vs. a fringe NHL'r, for example bad goals, great saves, teams confidence level, etc.
Could the Flames have still pulled that one out? For sure, but Fleury not playing is a BIG difference. Its a luxury the Flames haven't had since Kipper, knowing what kind of difference an all world goalie can make on any given night.

To me, there are only 3 teams in the west that are at all dangerous. Calgary, San Jose, and Vegas.
We must win the division so that way the two other good teams can beat the tar out of each other, while we have an easier time in round one with either Arizona or Minnesota.

I want no part of Minnesota and Bruce Boudreau in the first round, even if we win we'll be in bad shape for the next round.

1st round exit Minnesota?
They've made the playoffs with 106 and 101 points under Boudreau and got embarrassed both times, losing in 5 each time. They lost in 6 the year before Boudreau though!

Jets and Preds are just as capable as any of the 3 above of going to the final.

Yeah, it was a nothing game, but it is always fun to watch your team light it up.
It was also a chance to be part of the tribute to the Broncos. That was done very well, even little things like the Flames logo in green on the scoreboard.
