That assertion does not seem remotely objectionable, let alone incredulous.

Well, at the time he said it, Johnny was barely top 10 in scoring and disappeared for a month. He wasn't even close to consideration. I would pick Gio ahead of him TBH.

Lol at that Oiler fan comment about barely beating an AHL team. Didn't realize winning by 5 goals is barely winning. But I guess hey, what would an Oiler fan know about winning anyways.

You’d think they would know some things about AHL teams though.

The average goalie has a .905 save percentage this year, Calgary as a team is at .901.
That equates to 8 goals this season, which would give them a goal differential of 55.
That would put them 2nd in the league (they are currently tied for 2nd), but would trail TB by 34 goals.

How so? For the whole season his SV% is .909, putting him in a tie at 31st for goaltenders with at least 10 games played. Since the all-star break it's way worse, SV% of .882 putting him at the bottom of the pile. Rittich was good earlier in the year, but because the team rode Smith so much they still had bottom of the barrel goaltending numbers. Now that they're splitting the work they're equally as bad. If the Flames had a decent middle of the pack collective save % of .915 for the year I bet they'd be challenging Tampa right now instead of fighting tooth and nail with San Jose

It's funny that they're looking at New Jersey like how the rest of the league looks at them. Really, it's an AHL caliber team commenting on another AHL caliber team.

I'd like to see Monahan carry the puck in more often. Gives a much different look than Gaudreau. The Devils were not prepared for the switch-up in the 3rd period.

The funny part is that Bakersfield would beat the Oilers

Still jealous of Calgary pulling off a trade and getting Hanifin and Lindholm. That’s the kind of trade we need to get out of this ****.

Quit whining Devils fans. Remember that 1 for 1 trade you made?

Maybe, but you guys were talking about Kutcherov...nobody was "mad" at Francis for not having him winning. He said he wasn't even in the convo for top three. Many of the other top scorers are missing the playoffs.
Anyway I don't think anyone was too butt hurt, it was just hilarious that the guy went off and had one of the best periods in NHL history after Francis said it

He's a .909 goalie - that is exactly league average.
Although if you looked at games since the new year he's only an .897, which is... a concern.

Careful. According to some you are cherrypicking Rittich's numbers.
