Love the Flames, love my city (even though I live in Toronto now), I dream of the day that the Flames will be a consistent powerhouse (hopefully in my life time). Still fume when I watch the garbage I did tonight...But I'm too old to not call it the way I see it. We've all seen this story before.

Derek Wills also suggested / wondered aloud on the radio in the 3rd that Monahan might be injured.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, the guy has played UNTIL JUNE two years in a row. Think about that, 31 years old and going to the cup final back-to-back while all your current (and mostly under 25!) teammates were golfing by April those past years. This is why I've never ripped on the guy for struggling, I honestly think he's just ####ing exhausted. Hope he comes back and is the clutch Real Deal we need in the playoffs.
Neal is far from the first player to get to the Finals two years in a row.

People are overreacting to a really great Calgary team here. We’ll be just fine. I don’t know if we will win the Stanley Cup, but this is still a real good hockey team. Flat tire on the road trip- but this is still a really great hockey team.

You know what this team could use most of all??? A little faith and unadulterated support from the fans. The end. Believe.

So why do you only post when they lose?

Vegas seemed to learn what it takes on the fly last year.

Sure but that doesn't mean it's not affecting him this year. He's not a 25 year old superstar.

double digit posters have thanked my comment so maybe I have a point

Be pissed all you want, to say the "team is done" on March 7th when they are a lock for home ice in the playoffs is not a good post

Others are worried that perhaps the team does not have the extra gear to win at this time of year.

To each his/her own, quit with the sarcastic monologues already
I think it’s fair to mock it a little.

They just had a 7 game win streak in the same tight games.

Concern about the top 6 over the last month: fair
Concern about goaltending: fair

But all these super dramatic posts about it being a mediocre franchise, how the team is a disgrace, how the core always wilts, how the season is a write off etc, etc are way over the top.

Even this 4 game stretch isn’t as bad as people are making it out to be.

Minnesota: Actually a good played game with lots of high quality chances but done by poor goaltending

Toronto: Probably one of the best games in a while from a perspective of generating chances but too many defensive breakdowns and some poor goaltending.

Vegas: Great, hard fought playoff battle. Fought to the end and probably deserved (and earned if the league makes the right call) at least a point.

Phoenix: Probably the most flat performance of the bunch but also a back to back after a late start, 3 games in 4 nights with travel and a time zone change between all of them.

Regroup, take the day off tomorrow, and let’s see how the look Saturday.

Yet I've been a member since 2008 when things started to turn south for the team. But yes I guess i'm a mediocre fan.

Yeah - we don't want members who have been here since 2008 and have posted in multiple threads, discussing trade ideas and suggesting positive things about the Flames!! Get out of here!!

Would have been nice if they started Price instead of Anti-win.

Sharks are getting out shot 2 to 1 and all three of their goals were soft or lucky bounces. Hockey gods can be cruel. Let’s hope this is rock bottom for the Flames and that the first line finds their groove again.
