The Flames really needed to beat Minnesota. There was always the chance Toronto and Vegas would beat us. A 5 point lead would be a lot better than just a 3 point lead with S.J. having a game in hand on vs the Canadiens.

The Flames have no margin for error now because that head to head vs the Sharks could be a huge game in determining who wins the West.

I honestly can't believe we have guys like Quine and Dube on the farm but we call up Lazar.

Also I want to see Rittich back in net tomorrow. I know Smith historically has been good against the Yotes but his confidence and focus is shot.

The Flames should rewatch the Iginla tribute video. They are playing a soft game in the offensive zone right now.

Big 2 points tomorrow in Glendale.

Man, did we ever get screwed on that goalie interference call, which completely robbed us of at least a point tonight. Fleury played really well and made some big stops when the Flames had them hemmed in a few times.

Our PP needs some serious work before the playoffs begin.

1st line is still struggling, but they would have been on the board tonight with a very nice goal if not for the horses**t interference call.

Rittich was outstanding. I hope Peters continues to ride him down the stretch.

I thought Tkachuk had a great game.

I said it in the game thread and ill say it again, big difference between hockey before and after the All star game. Things tighten up and and it gets a lot harder.

BT did a disservice to the team by not adding upfront at the deadline. And before anybody jumps on my back about it, i'm not saying trade all your assets for a big gun but the team needed more speed and skill on the 2nd line.

As much as I like Tkachuk and Monahan (2 of the 4 pillars upfront), they lack foot speed and you need that in crunch time to put the other team on their heels, draw penalties, create chaos down low, generate high danger chances. When teams amp up the defensive play and really focus on checking certain guys, its easier to contain guys who can't skate all that great. No coincidence we've seen a drop in play and production from them.

This season has been fun to watch, but this team is not a contender in my opinion... yet. The guys we have need more experience playing in tight checking playoff type hockey games, and BT still has to add up front.

I find myself really not liking Frolik these days. The BS from his agent really irritated me and he does very little on the ice to put up with Allan Walsh’s tweets. Damn it I wish that Zucker trade had gone through.

Let’s get some positivity in here. 7 wins in their last 10 games. Still in 1st. Still 10 points up on Vegas. We can beat this team. We beat them 7-1 earlier in the year. The fact that it’s March and this is the first time they’ve gone three games without a point is really impressive. Everybody calm down. The playoffs aren’t for another month. They have lots of time to turn it around. Anyone who thinks this team will continue struggling to score goals is kidding themselves.

Meh, I am fine with this as long as the Flames get first in the Pacific. I would rather they hit rock bottom now and figure things out than in the playoffs. If they don't figure it out, it will be an easy playoff exit and I get to enjoy the spring/summer season.

That's about as bad a call-back as you'll see.
Even from this bunch of knobs.

Game should have been 1-1, intense and fast.
Instead, we deflated after a garbage no goal and stopped playing the way we came at them in the first. They still had chances, but they came out looking to make Vegas play small - and they abruptly lost that mojo.

Ya, and you might as well see if they can be useful for playoffs

No if we are looking to predict future results with this game its a 2-1 loss. We also cant win in Vegas either

Yet some people on here aren't worried... in fact some are saying we will just sweep them aside?

On the bright side, the goalie can stop a puck again.

Flames win these last two games:
“Flames peaking too early” or “Doesn’t matter how the Flames play in March”

Flames lose these two games:
“Here comes another first round exit”

You are free to worry...

I am not gonna worry about an even road game in early March where the refs screwed the Flames out of the tying goal
