With this goaltending I find myself lowering my expectations for a cup run.

Really liked the third line tonight. Czarnik had three grade A chances. Janko was on the right side of most pucks and Bennett played well. The first line continues to cause concern for me. Hopefully they get back to better hockey down the stretch.

Czarnik could've easily had a hat trick. He and Ryan were the best forwards.

And it's night & day with how much better Ryan is playing since mid-December compared to how boring or even flat he was before then. He's looking really dangerous offensively on many shifts now vs basically never even being or looking even remotely dangerous offensively before mid-Dec came about.

Lot of mistakes today against a team you can’t make mistakes against. Team didn’t get a lot of bounces again, but the details and execution weren’t good enough to win tonight.

Top line needs to switch it up. They’re flat and playing uninspired hockey. Monahan looks slow, Gaudreau is fighting the puck and Lindholm is snake bitten. Hopefully a change can create some kind of spark for one of these guys.

Which is a shame because the rest of the team is damned good. Too bad they have this big ol' Achilles's heel just waiting to to get sliced open. How this management team could think that Smith/Rittich would be good enough is beyond me. I hold very little hope it gets solved this off season either. Probably just another half measure coming up where we trade an early/mid pick for someone else's discard.

The goaltending on this team is pathetic. The goals that they give up on a nightly basis are borderline beer league.

Tre is doing a good job but his failure to address the goalie situation for years is starting to bite us

For a die-hard Calgary Flames fan, seeing Toronto fans completely overtaking Saddledome was painfully embarrassing. Not a single Go Flames Go chant went audible enough with Go Leafs Go over it; not once! All those clowns wrapped in blue flags and high-fiving each other all over the concourse like it was their own city. We should all be ashamed of this.

As for the game, the SOG numbers did not show it, but in there it felt like Calgary was manhandled by a bigger and better team in all respects. They came out flying and we had nothing to offer back. Add a few really questionable officiating calls and you've got a recipe for disaster. Some games your team lose and you felt bad but proud for how it fought to the end. This was not one of those games...

Thing is, the goaltending has been fluid all season..

It's been everywhere along the spectrum of great to putrid.

We don't know what we're going to get mid April. The inconsistency lately is uncomfortable, and it will probably be the factor that gets them written off by every analyst and their dog regardless of where they finish, but at the end of the day, it takes one run. At least if it does go sideways, one guy is expiring and we'll be assured a change at the position, and probably for the better.

Lets not forget the top line gets all the attention of the other team and their best shut down players...part of the reason the other lines are successful

So that means he'll become a steady and reliable vet that scores a series winner to finish off his tenure here? Sign me up.

It will never happen, nor should it

JG is their leading scorer over the last few games and the season, they are not sitting him its beyond ridiculous

Only three players "manhandled" the Flames in any way.

Tyler Ennis is 5'9" and 160lbs
Mitch Marner 5'11 and 175lbs
Frederik Andersen is a goalie

I am really, really confident that size was not the difference in this game.

Well it's good that Ryan is and has been doing the things he should've been able to do a little earlier in the season.

He's been great ever since mid-December, which is a massive turnaround to how meek, flat, and non-threatening offensively he often looked before then.
