I wonder how much of a say Iggy had in the invite list
I say that based on seeing a guy like Chris Dingman there who is a pretty insignificant part of the teams history. But perhaps he and Iggy were close
Sitting in our hotel breakfast area in....a warmer location than Calgary...Hey There Delilah comes on the speakers. Found that pretty fitting. And you're welcome to all those who, like me, will be singing the song all day now.

Not sure where to post this, but is there a link to the full ceremony? NHL.tv only has the 9 min condensed version and it only showed the game and not the ceremony last night. Much appreciated. Go Iggy!!!

I would check the team website.

The original plan was to invite Dingman, beat him up and take his Stanley Cup ring from 2004 and give it to Iginla who deserved it, but Iggy said no.

I'm still buzzing from the ceremony. Very happy it was classy and to the point with very little cheese.
I guess there are two things I am thinking about now. The first is that the jersey raising makes his retirement official and Iginla is now a part of Flames history. This makes me a little sad and nostalgic. The second is that something didn't feel right the minute he retired. The best Flame ever was not playing anymore but his number was not in the rafters. Seeing #12 hanging at the Dome makes everything right.

Hat's off to Iggy from an enemy fan. He's always been one of my favorite non-Sharks. Seems to me that he may be one of the most liked players league-wide in his time. What's not to like? An honorable guy even when he played over the edge. Hey, if you're going to play right at the edge, you're going to slip over it sometimes.
Iggy really is the perfect hockey player, isn't he? If you set out to build the perfect Canadian hockey player, wouldn't he look pretty much like Iggy? I'm including the off ice stuff too - this guy is someone you want your kids to emulate in life all around.
I missed the ceremony... I'll have to go find it. Congrats Iggy!
