There's a better chance that Nenshi will change his last name to Iginla than rename 12th ave. With the property tax increases businesses have been hit with in Calgary as of late it would be political suicide.
I love the idea myself and couldn't happen to a more deserving person. For Iginla and Nenshi.

Exactly. This guy was a sports star . Not like Iggy cur3d polio. He is no Jonas Edward Salk or Edward Jenner.
I get he is an awesome guy and did alot for kid sport but we need a little perspective.

This. And it’s not without precedent — 4 Street SE “magically” turns into Olympic Way south of 12 Ave so no reason why you couldn’t just apply it east of Macleod instead of the entire Beltline..
