Fyi, Iggy is the honouree and featured speaker at this year's Calgary Jewish Centre Sports Dinner on June 13. A fun event, many current and former Flames will be there as well. I think there are still tickets available.
My favourite player of all time. I remembering hearing out on an outdoor rink the radio announcing that Nieuwendyk had been traded for Iginla and Millen.
The Quest stands upon the edge of a knife. Stray but a little, and it will fail, to the ruin of all. Yet hope remains while the Company is true. Go Flames Go!
I'm sure I'll have lots more to say about Iginla later but have only watched half of this incredible video so far and random thoughts
I still cannot believe how ridiculous it was that he wasn't one of the NHLs top 100 . dear god
easy to forget he was a last minute add to that 02 olympic group in training camp , then he blew up that season
I know how good Kipper was , but man everyone rewatch the part on the 04 playoffs. Iginla that year was essentially a perfect hockey player. unbelievable
we were all cheated out of Iginla's 27 year old season owing to the lockout. what might have been there who knows

2001-2002, 7 year old me started getting into hockey. I remember following TSN to see if Iggy hit 50 yet. I remember following the rocket race in 04 and being upset it ended in a 3 way tie but I was happy we made the playoffs at least. Then that cup run happened and I was hooked ever since. Thanks Jarome for getting me into this wonderful sport and for everything you accomplished and contributed to the NHL and our city here in Calgary. A part of me wishes he was on our current team now with how we are doing but father time get's the best of everyone (Even though Jarome doesn't look like he's aged all that much)
The Deaner @Dean_Murdoch
Everyone calls it the golden goal when Crosby won the game in Vancouver, but for me it'll always be the Golden Crosscheck. The pride of Alberta Jarome Iginla making the sweet pass while gettin knocked to the ice. #heart #warrior
That yell of "Iggy" will always be amazing, goosebumps every time.
I love this montage of all the calls around the world:

Awesome video. Iginla was a beat and we may never see another like him in Flames togs. Some comments/memories from the video.
Corey Millen to Jarome Iginla. Something for now, something for the future. The future was a pretty amazing player.
Nice seeing Cory Stillman. Wish we had kept him, but you don't win championships with players like Cory Stillman.
Yzerman-Sakic-Iginla. Yowie!
Iggy scored them every way imaginable.
Ohlund hangs on for dear life.
Peter Maher - Yeah Baby!
Iginla/Lecavalier was an epic tilt.
Daniel Tkaczuk and Oleg Saprykin. What should have been.
Iginla beat up half the Canucks' roster.
Oh Ollie.
Sid & Iggy = GOLD
Best uniforms in the game are still the retros. Iginla never looked better than when he was in that retro.
My god Iginla had to play with some marginal talent over his career. Amazing what he accomplished. Very sad he didn't get his cup.
Is Iginla the last true power forwad we see in the NHL for a while? A really unique player.
Thanks for the video AC. Really was a trip down memory lane.
This quote makes me sad lol.. I think you forgot that Stillman was a member of the Lightning when they beat us in 2004. Not saying that we would have won if we had him, but it brought back bad memories . Haha .. I think Stillman was also on the Canes when they beat the Oilers though in 2006.
Thanks for the video AC. That was awesome reliving the memories.
I watched the 89 cup winning team as a kid, suffered through the 90s, and was almost done with the flames/hockey but then his Hart nomination year (boo) and then that magical cup run, Iginla's play specifically which pulled me back.
I've been back to being downright flames obsessed thanks to Iginla. It's hard to even watch highlights of that cup run without getting emotional. It was a great time for me as a fan, but also personally (just graduated uni about a week into the playoffs, moved into a temp apartment downtown the weekend before my first day on the job, in the company I'd grow in for almost 15 years after, and watching each game with the girlfriend who'd end up being my wife, and mother to my 2 children).
That spring will be one of my most cherished times when I look back at my life.

This is my favorite "live" moment of Iggy...we could hear Crosby yell from the 2nd row...and then pandemonium. What an incredible hockey player and class act.
