Even if it was a high stick, doesn't the puck going off Koskinen's pad before he shot it in the net, negate the high stick?

I thought so too. Different standard for knocking the puck down, or should be. Shoulder height to knock it down, then played it from the ice.

edit: Plus, as mentioned, bouncing off the goalie... hadn't thought of that part.

How is that not a goal? Hit with high stick by Ottawa, hits the oiler goalie, rebound shot goes in. Unbelievably bad call.

That's what I was thinking as well. Sens definitely got screwed there.

No, it requires possession.

Just like how you can't kick the puck and have it deflect off the opposition and in.

They blew the call as he didn't highstick the puck, but you can't review if the puck was highsticked to gain possession. The officials said he knocked the puck down with a highstick, which is a dead play automatically.

And... 4-0 Boston. They are destroying the Bolts.

This is why I scoff when people talk like the Cup is a foregone conclusion for Tampa. Anyone who thinks this must be new to hockey.

Edit: and as I type this Tampa makes it 4-1. Too little too late though

It's about time Tampa experienced a little humility. Good job, Bruins!

Tampa only has two more ROW wins than Calgary...they are a great team but far from unbeatable

Wonder if the Oiler fans will trot out their usual referee bias nonsense again tonight? Guess not seeing as they got two absolutely brutal calls in their favour tonight!

Klefbom dives and the Sens get called for tripping. Brutal call.

That looked offside, why does the challenge have to come from the league?

Another stat from the BOS-TBL game...

First time in NHL history that 2 teams, both with at least 14 game point streaks, played each other.

And it's over, BOS wins 4-1 and Tampa's point streak comes to an end

The Coyotes lead 2-1 after twenty minutes and now early in the second period.
