I have to disagree. Kane thought he could get the drop on him and suckered him. Kane is lucky he didn't get his head popped off like a bottle cap. What a bitch.

Yeah, imo, Kane thought he could win by getting his shots in and he got caught.

I hope so!
Just saying tomorrow night is not a gimme...and I'm sure the team isn't approaching it that way.

Forgot about that 07 series...still point remains
Hope it changes but Gio is about as far from a playoff vet as a 35 year old gets

Andersson has 2 yes 2 goals this year.
People are going way overboard as usual.

If Smith is injured, they should give him plenty of time to rest. You can roll with Rittich until Smith is good again.

Neal wasn't going all out earlier in the season...he started to go to the tough areas more after the all star break...anyone with eyeballs could see that.
A guy that goes to the finals two seasons in a row isn't as worried about game 22 as some other players are.
Not saying he didn't try but he was certainly more of a perimeter player than he was last season in the playoffs. He has also played more games than almost any player in the league over the last three seasons.
Are you suggesting he forgot how to play hockey over the summer? The league is full of guys who play better in the playoffs, there are countless examples.

Im so confused. The Flames weren’t really a clear favourite to even make the Playoffs when the season started. What you’re saying is that Neal didn’t try his hardest during the early part of the season...when it wasn’t clear that the Flames were going to make the playoffs.
I just want to get this right, because that’s a pretty damning accusation you’re making. You’re saying that Neal is deliberately not trying his hardest...thus leaving the burden to other teammates on purpose? I wonder how Peters feels about this....or Tre who’s paying him 5.75 million to ‘not try his hardest’
Ovi has 44 goals...is he holding back too?
What other veteran isn’t trying his hardest in another team?

Neal has 5 goals. Who are your comparables of goal scorers that have fallen off a cliff only to “dial it back up” for the playoffs?
No doubt Neal knows how to play in the playoffs, and he has played a lot of hockey but IMO that doesn’t explain his season.

I’d agree with him though. He has a quick and hard shot. Goals aren’t always coming but his ability to get it off hard and accurate has been noticeable.

Jesus Christ he has the gift of the gab. One thing he said earlier this season was he can tell after the first four shifts of the game if the team is “on”. I always look for that now and tonight they were great to start and carried it through.
Solid win.

I promise you Ovi also plays harder in the playoffs too...is this really news to you? Players admit it themselves.
I promise you that Tre and Peters will be more than happy if Neal takes his game to another level in the playoffs.
We are talking about hitting, grinding, going to the net/tough areas...things that make Neal successful. Things he started to do after the ASB that were noticed by many.
If you think every NHLer goes 100% all in every regular season game you are out to lunch

lol okay buddy.
Perennial 20 goal scorer Neal has 5 goals because he is saving himself
(See what I did there?)
