This was what the team needed to do. This stretch was against some easier competition and we needed to string together some wins.

Next 5...

Toronto

Pretty crazy Smith came out to play that puck and try for the empty net. If a "blow'd up groin" wont keep him in the net nothing will.

I gotta say, the intermission was calling the between the legs goal a move that the kids do and yet, the player I think of who's scored the most of them is Rick Nash and he just retired LOL

I thought the top line looked much better in the third period than they have for two weeks. I am encouraged.

Crazy.
So last year he was playing lights out, got injured, then came back and played like crap.

This year he was playing like crap, may be injured, then he should come back playing lights out.

That’s how it works people.

Spoiler!

Smith with a beast game. Beast! Absolutely dominant on the PK. Save after save. Huge couple saves in the end. Hope he's alright, as he's finding his groove and the team is winning.

I said it in the GT, but the Islanders are a completely different team without Tavares and with Trotz. They are the team I follow the most in the East, and they are night and day compared to last year. Similar to Calgary. Have to give them kudos for the great season they are having.

Johnny with b2b 80 point seasons! There aren't much better contracts in the league right now. Gio was great too.

Islanders post game show is giving the Flames a lot of love.

Really interested to where Neal slots in when he's back. Not to be a debbie downer, but it's too bad we didn't grab Reaves instead of Neal in the off season. Bennett and Reaves would have been terrifying for other teams.

Backlund is an absolute monster right now, he has an elite part to his game that he can tap into sometimes. When he does he, watch out.

Walking is a bit different than doing splits and butterflies on ice...

I think CP may need to eat a collective crow with regards to Mike Smith, including myself. Did not think he would find his game again, looks like a different goalie all together. Like Hrudley said, he looks much more relaxed

That is probably the teams toughest stretch the rest of the year.

After that we only play 4/12 games against teams in a playoff spot currently.

1st in the West is definitely a strong possibility.

we good!

Smith looks so much calmer in the net - its night and day from earlier this year. Hope he's ok.
