He's a UFA at season end so I don't think this has much to do with replacing Kylington or Valimaki.

maybe just insuring we are beefed up on defense for playoffs...if nothing else.

I think theres something to the whole: we move Kylington and need fantenberg to fill that hole.

Meaning kylington is gone for either stone or simmonds.

Weird pickup in that they have so many dmen and I don't know how they keep them all on the roster without waivers. Would need to send kylington or Andersson down now no unless they are dealt?

personally I'd rather deal a 4th for Fantenberg than a 4th + 7th for McQuaid

There is no roster limit as of 12:01AM today.

Teams can keep up as many players on the NHL roster as they was long as they are cap compliant.
