Opening a fork on the panel seems mildly unprofessional lol.

See lots of people sad the Flames aren't adding...in recent history the smart play has been to not go crazy at the deadline:
2018 - Washington Capitals:
Jerabek for a 5th
Kempny for a 3rd
2017 - Pittsburgh Penguins:
Hainsey for a 2nd
Corrado for a 4th, Fehr
Streit for a 4th
2016 - Pittsburgh Penguins:
Schultz for a 3rd
2015 - Chicago Blackhawks
Timonen - for a 2nd, 4th (0 points in 18 games)
Vermette for a 1st, Dahlbeck (7 points in 20 games)
2014 - LA Kings:
Gaborik for a 2nd, 3rd, Frattin
2013 - Chicago Blackhawks:
Handzus for a 4th
The teams that have won were teams that had sustained success - Chicago, LA, Pittsburgh, and Washington were all contenders for 5+ seasons in their cup window. Drafting well and re-filling the cupboards with cheap ELC players is what allowed them to do that.
Trading all future ELC depth (Valimaki, Dube, Kylington, 1ST) for one kick at the can this season would be the worst decision our team could make.

Yeah, low priced experience/depth is probably the focus now that the Stone talk is done.

This.
Keep all our picks and prospects.
Sign Stone in the off season.
Trade Brodie + Frolik for even MORE picks and prospects.
Ice an elite young team and keep the cupboards stocked for sustainability.

I totally agree. The most id want to see the flames do is something like a 2nd for Johansson. It is similar to lots of these deals.
I’d also be okay with a big splash for stone given that he’d be apart of the core for years to come, but Valimaki and Andersson would not be included and I’m even iffy at the idea of getting rid of Kylington.
A 2nd for Johansson makes the most sense

Stone in the off-season will command a giant salary. Teams go crazy on July 1 for free agents, especially one of his calibre.

I'm actually surprised at the low quantity of "smaller" deals so far. I guess there's still some time to go, but usually there feels like there's more depth moves than there have been so far doesn't there?

Might be one of those deadlines where there is a flood at the last minute.

Yeah Treliving coming out of left field and doing something for Trocheck out of Florida would be awesome.
