Taking a while to get to 5000

To the folks that overreacted to Commodore's tweet about Hayes on Friday. This is why you need to relax and consider the source

As teams move to other options, Tre the last one standing and price on Stone moves down to flames offer.

seems like a decent trade for both teams. lemieux is not good at all but the first is good value for a rental for nyr

So looks like Stone possibly to Vegas, Calgary or Nashville?

Hayes was the right move for Winnipeg, adding a little depth at centre.
I want to trade Laine instead of re-signing, but not until after the playoffs. If he is moved today it better be to acquire Stone who's already agreed to re-sign with us.

There are still other teams that can or could be in on Stone.
Nashville, Vegas come to mind as being rumored.
I hate to be the porcupine at the balloon party.....

Nyquist to SJ, Hayes to Winnipeg . . . We better be looking at a winger, because our targets are drying up.

oooh boy
Ryan Leslie @ryanleslie73
Don Maloney telling me moments ago, the #Flames were “in on something big” last night but that it fell apart.
Again, they are not willing to use their high end prospects for a rental.

Maybe that was the Stone deal?!? But the Senators wouldn't let the Flames talk to Stone about resigning?

My bet is that was Hayes, and now he's a Jet.

NYR are a darkhorse buyer. They have like a billion assets and would be hard to beat if they really set their eye on a young player that they can re-sign or has term.

Maloney again reiterates that they won't give up "A" assets for a rental.

Maloney on TV sounds like they were in on Stone and backed out

That could be why it fell apart. The Flames may give Ottawa closer to asking price if they could talk to Stone and get assurance that they could sign him long term.

For now.....
At some point the Sens are going to become desperate today.
That's when the Wizard will strike.
The question though is if the Sens leave it so late that it can't happen, particularly since the Flames want to talk to the player.

Could have easily been talking about Hayes - and given that Hayes was the first to go this morning, they could have pivoted to the WPG deal rather than what they had with Calgary.

Stone's price could come down. See what happens there.
If not Stone, Johansson wouldn't be too bad of an add.
