I agree in that he probably wouldn’t have wanted to come to play in Calgary which is his right and makes it harder for BT to acquire. Notwithstanding the flames don’t have a second rounder. When you have a NTC, you can choose where you’d want to go amongst whoever is interested in trading for you. San Jose is a contender and a great place to play and live.

I probably would have done the same.

#### that is really cheap for a guy like Nyquist. I'd give our first for him, if he'd re-sign. SJ now with 8 players with more than 45 pts on the season. They are stacked.

Ugh.

Wilson being Wilson.

He'll probably re-sign there too on a bargain contract, because Sharks.

I remember when Sutter's Flames had more 20 goal scorers than any other team.

It got them no where.

Wow, that's a pretty cheap price.

Hoping for a similar move for the flames.

Wow. That’s such a great trade by Wilson.

He gave up the same picks but with way less onerous conditions than Nill did and Nyquist is a better player than Zuccarello. I would’ve thought Nyquist was going to be expensive. If that was the cost of Nyquist, I don’t want to give up the 1st for any forward other than Stone (even if late 1sts do have value very similar to 2nd and 3rds) https://public.tableau.com/shared/M7...play_count=yes (Comparing Nyquist and Zuccarello)

Also, I wonder if this means the Senators work even harder to get Stone signed. That price for Nyquist can’t help but mean teams will look elsewhere if Ottawa is asking for the world and they can get a quality forward without giving up so many valuable assets.

Good get by San Jose, but not certain where he fits. Nyqvist doesn't play the same heavy game the Sharks like. I thought Simmonds would have been the better fit. It will be interesting to see if this acquisition works out.

I love it. Sharks are going to pay for not having much to show for the next few drafts. Only a matter of time until they turn into the Kings without the Stanley Cup rings.

Kevin Kurz @KKurzNHL
Was told this morning that Gustav Nyqvist wanted to go to San Jose — it was his first choice. He and Karlsson are good friends apparently
