Czarnik can continue to be in the line-up while Neal takes his time to recover.......there is no rush at all. Big two points seprating us from the Sharks agian.

Game never really felt in doubt. Glad to see them end in regulation since OT and SO haven't been great lately.

Well, that was u-g-l-y.

Both goals were actually goals. The NHL remains terrible at making decisions. That said, they could hardly allow the Sens goal after denying the Flames one.

However, the complexion of the game had the Flames gone up 2-0 might have been VERY different - and that's the problem with the called-back goal. Made it a tougher night than it should have been as it seemed to have taken some of the fight out of the Flames.

And the "official" explanation makes no sense whatsover:
After reviewing all available replays and consulting with the Referee, the Situation Room determined that Tkachuk impaired Anderson from freezing the puck in the crease and pushed his glove with the puck into the net. The decision was made in accordance with

According to Rule 78.7, "The standard for overturning the call in the event of a "GOAL" call on the ice is that the NHL Situation Room (which shall include a former referee in the Officiating Department in the decision-making process), after reviewing any and all available replays and consulting with the Referee who made the original call, determines that the goal should have been disallowed due to "Interference on the Goalkeeper," as described in Rules 69.1, 69.3 and 69.4."

Given that the glove was on the puck for less than 1/2 second before Chucky hit the puck, it's hard to see how that could be a call. No whistle (or intent). No puck "frozen". Call on the ice is goal. Anderson not actually "freezing" anything.

Gotta give Czarnik credit. He's been given an opportunity and has grabbed it. Much to my surprise. Eating some delicious crow on this one right now.

Oh btw: 23 games now above .500. 23!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2 points is 2 points, but the Flames have to find a way to get the top line going.

Team overall dominated possession, but that'll happen when the Senators game plan appeared to be 'put 5 players in a box around the net and dump it.'

Well, except for the part where tanking does absolutely nothing for them since Colorado owns the Senators' first round pick.

It helps improve all their other picks too though.

Picking 32nd instead of 33rd, etc.

I'm actually feeling more confident in this team with these back to back 2-1 wins. The high scoring wins are more fun, but the 2-1 wins with unlikely heroes is more like playoff hockey.

Feels good to frustrate the Sharks too - they can't gain ground on the Flames.

Holy crap. The Flames only need a 0.375 record to hit 100 points. Only 15 away with 20 games left.
