Part of me hopes that the Sense hold onto Stone and than he does bolt. It would be the most epic deconstruction of a team since the early 00's Penguins.
I like wathing them be the Edmonton of the East.

Are trades with future considerations, similar to the Fleury/Regehr trade, still allowed?

I dont believe they have been allowed since the new CBA, and why everything has "conditions" instead now, though i could be dead wrong but i remember reading something like this years ago.

I don't think Stone is going to prevent that.

The rumored trade by the reddit guy seems a little premature. If the deal was done, both teams would pull their respective guys so that nobody would get injured. Odd to say that it'd be announced after the game. Excuses in 5, 4, 3...

Stop dampening the collective hysteria!
Maybe reddit guy is the new Orange Julius guy?

As long as the asking price stays crazy, I can't imagine a trade happening. Tre won't pay that rumoured asking price, would he?

When the Flames made the trade with Jokinen and Prust to the Rangers for Kotalik + Higgins, the deal was done early in the day, but they both played in the game (which was an abominable effort by the Flames that night).

Then once the game ended the trade was made.

The thing is other good teams are just as stingy because other good teams are ran by other smart people. If the asking price is ridiculous most of these teams won’t cave when negotiating with the notorious trade losers that are Dorion and the Sens

So the cost of getting Stone for one playoff run would be just one 1st, either Valimaki, Andersson or Kylington + more? I’d pass on that and try to go on an all out push for Stone in the summer that’ll cost us zero assets. Stone saw first hand how good this team can be today, maybe he was impressed and would want to be a part of it.
