I think the D is a wash; EDM has a decent edge at forward, but I think the gap between goaltenders is even greater.
The amazing thing is that if you don't include Larsson as one of the D-men, none of the Oilers were even acquired via trades for the guys above.

It's no fun watching the Flames' competition get better on deadline day, but we always have the oil to remind us of how bad D-Day could be. No hope of getting better. Not willing to sell any of their few assets. It's a good day so far.

So the Oilers didn't move Chiasson. So now they either lose him for nothing, or re-sign him and honestly either situation sounds right on par.
