As much as I’d like Stone I think Dorion is under huge pressure to hit a home run on the return. It likely won’t be worth what he’s asking - at least not until the last minute when he has to take what he can get or risk losing him for nothing.

I'm seeing this Seattle expansion talk come up a lot.
Its being overblown. We have 2 full seasons, and 3 off-seasons before we potentially lose a player.
We have so much time to make trades and adjustments, and not to mention the possibility of a side deal with Seattle before the draft to avoid a big loss.
Worrying about it now, this far in advance is too soon.

Trading Kylington (or any of the three young defencemen) would be a mistake. I hope Treliving walks away at that price. Dube + 1st + conditional (on resigning) pick is as high as I think we should go. There are other options. We don't NEED Stone.

Does the return Rags are looking for Hayes interfere with the Stone return? I tend to think not.
Hopefully can pull off both.

The Flames will really miss any of Andersson/Kylington/Valimaki. They've been transitioning so well and it's been the key to their wave-after-wave offense lately. Replacing any of them with a Prout or Stone just means 12+ minutes a game of sitting back because they can't move the puck as well.
And then people want to throw away Brodie in the summer as well. The Flames will have all the talented forwards in the world but nobody to get them the puck.
Keep the D.

Ottawa can pound sand if that’s what they want. Good luck in Winnipeg.

Playoff wise...no.
But this is one of the best regular seasons in the franchises history....been a lot of fun to be part of, and that's coming from a guy that has been with them since day 1.

I'd do a 1st, 4th, Kylington, Frolik and Foo if they think Stone re-signs

Seems some posturing from both sides in their leveraging the media.
Sens: Making a last ditch effort to re-sign Stone, not happy with the offers so far.
Flames: Sens price is ridiculously high, our Top D prospects are off the table.
Time will tell, but hard to say the Sens have much leverage given the risk of losing for nothing.
Can't imagine any of Nsh/Wpg/Calgary paying that price for pure rental.

1st 2019 + Kylington + Dube + Frolik is the most I would be willing to part with. That being said, I really want Stone on this team. Just get it done Treliving.
Stone needs to be signed though.

I think that tends to happen when a player is ranked behind two better players in Valimaki and Andersson. I don't think the Flames should be looking to move any of the three when Brodie and Stone are still on the roster as they are the two players that need to be moved.

Steinberg: Sens asking 1sts, one of Valimaki/Kylington/Andersson, + more for Stone

It’s more than two years away! It’s not as though this is the Flames’s only opportunity to shuffle their defence. For all we know the value of all three of these players is considerably higher at this time next year, or the year after that.
There is NO urgency here.

I have a hard time deciding who I like the most out of Kylington, Valimaki and Andersson. All 3 have looked great.
Valimaki is the youngest and looks amazing for his age.
Kylington took a huge leap forward this year and I think has the highest ceiling, although he might be the riskiest.
Andersson is probably the most mature and less of a risk, but maybe the lowest ceiling.

This comment can't be thanked enough!
The most annoying part of the Kylington trade suggestions is ppl justifying it because of the looming expansion draft.
We have no idea how that's all gonna shake out and in no way should it be the basis for justifying trades when we are years away from it.
