I am sorry but I dont agree with this. Treliving has had 60 games to assess his existing squad. None of the things you listed should be assessed after a game against the Sens when they are absolutely decimated.

This is too cute. In the same breath as acknowledging Kris Russell not only makes 4M, but comes with a NMC, Rishaug implies that waiving that NMC to leave Edmonton could be a roadblock to completing a trade.

The only TSN employed personality who's ever on the local air here who doesn't kiss the Oilers arse is Bob Mckenzie. Every one else has to be very selective in how they talk about the teams position in the standings.

Yup, it's because Lowe has historically cuddled up to the national guys in order to get the spin and positive PR and to leverage off their agent and GM contacts to get Intel from other teams. Cuddling up means giving them trade rumors roster updates,and trades well in advance, and other internal information to the likes of Dreger and Shannon, that make those guys look good.

Rishaugh chosen today becuase they know TSN will be going to him a lot tomorrow in their 10 hours of coverage.

Can you imagine going to that game that night, not knowing the trade happened, and then seeing Kromm coming skating out beside Trottier or something?
