I realize Kylington is an attractive trade piece, and the Flames have a luxury of depth at the position.
But man, to be able to ice this stable of defencemen for the rest of this season, in addition to the 19/20 and 20/21 season before we have to worry about losing someone is a really really attractive prospect.

There's a very good probability his value only increases in to next year as well.

I really hope we don't trade him. Even if the return is Stone.

Somebody has to be traded before next year, or one of them is watching from the press box every night or playing in Stockton.

			Gaudreau $6,750,000	Monahan $6,375,000
 Giordano $6,750,000

And now you pay Stone $10,500,000. Yup, that's the way to create a happy dressing room.

I’m concerned about the cap structure there, but not about players being upset with how much money another player earns. If there are players like that on this team then show them the door.

I believe most in the NHL are professional enough to not read into that too much.

Pierre LeBrun @PierreVLeBrunSome teams are blushing at the original ask from Ottawa on Mark Stone. And yet so tempted because he’s so damn good. Key for some teams will be to estimate their chances of re-signing him.

RFA/UFA, and you know what players want? Escalating salaries.

They want to win and they want to get paid.

Stone getting that contract would help them and help them get paid when their deals are up.

Darren Dreger @DarrenDregerLots of action on veteran NYR forward Mats Zuccarello. High picks or a high pick and a prospect expected to be the return.

I remember listening to the fan 960 and Rhett talked about it. What other players made was never an issue.

The way to create a happy dressing room is by winning. I think Stone would help in that regard.

Sorry, it will be down the road before Gaudreau, Giordano and Monahan sign new contracts. A $4,000,000 difference in salary for those years does not equate to a happy dressing room. We're not talking about signing a Crosby, Ovechkin or McDavid. Stone is not the guy to carry the team. It's time to get serious.

Hard pass on this at those prices. He is a borderline upgrade.
