I'm convinced that McDavid is an anti-vaxer.

Seriously, has any NHL player in the history of the league been battling the staggering amount of various infections and illnesses that McDavid is dealing with?

You'd be sick all the time if you were over worked like he is.

In McDiphtheria's defense, have you seen the oilers roster? Anyone would be sick if they were surrounded by crap all the time.

From Squiggs snake thread...
Quote:
A record of 21-2-0 (0.913 point percentage) in the remaining 23 games would give the blue snake 96 points.
|
They are not making the playoffs. Zero chance. Well, technically 2 more losses, then zero chance.

You need a reverse snake to do that. 96 is the highest points in the west required to make the playoffs. You need the lowest since 2006 to make the playoffs. Probably 86 or so.

^ Unbelievably, it might only take 84 or 85 points to make the playoffs in the West. And they still aren't going to get that high.
Also, one more from yesterday's practice lines:

Quickly looked back 1 yr you could have gotten in with 84 points as the 9th place team had 83.

Combine this with the glut of teams between the Oilers and the playoffs...
I haven’t done the “what teams immediately above the Oilers play other teams immediately above the Oilers” analysis, but at this point, I’d say bigger over and above points alone is the fact that many of these teams either just on the outside or those popping in and out of a WC position are playing, if not “well”, at least not too badly. (And definitely not as badly as the Oilers)
Chicago’s back in it, Colorado just destroyed the Jets, Dallas is still there, St. Louis has come outta nowhere Randy Orton style and isn’t even in the WC chase anymore, and even Minny’s hanging around. Oh, and the coyotes are pretty plucky too...
Which two of these teams are going to drop off enough to allow the Oilers to make up ground? I can’t see even one of these teams being supplanted by the Oilers at this point.
It’s glorious.

Why this team has not declared themselves a seller and is trying to give away any and all dead weight is beyond me. The fact that they are still confident in their playoff ambitions - not to mention being disturbingly confident their entire roster of the Bakersfield Condors is going to make it to the NHL - is just mind-boggling.
Here come the Oilers, bumbling and disastrous as usual.

They have like 3 guys who anyone would be interested in, that's it.

They are trying to sell hope to rich dummies to buy suites and STHs. Tell them they still have ambition for playoffs, and people will line up and spend so they don't miss an opportunity to witness another "run".

Do you blame them? People spent their holiday break lining up all day in a mall to get autographs from these bums. Oilers fans will grasp on to the tiniest sliver of hope.

Well isn't this convenient? Unhappy player doesn't want to go to AHL suddenly has a long term injury?
Ryan Rishaug @TSNRyanRishaug
May be more injury news on Puljujarvi soon. Has a lower body injury and is currently on IR, could be longer than originally expected.
