You got me, I admit it...I watched the season premiere of Survivor instead of the back half of the game. But I came back for the last 3 minutes, and flipped over during commercial breaks!

I don’t think folks are giving Smith enough credit for just how much his confident puck handling tonight completely defeated the Isles forecheck and puck cycling plan. Great game planning, I assume, by Peters - but wow was Smith quietly the biggest part of shutting down the Isles offensive game plan!

Huge win with no passengers. Can't imagine what Backlund said to the ref. Did he go full Bull Durham?

Flames were very physical and hard against Barzal tonight. He didn't have a ton of space tonight and you could tell he was frustrated and then he got destroyed by Lindholm shorthanded 1 on 1. Really nice to see them shut down a star player like that.

That was easily one of the best and most complete games the Flames have played this year. They looked absolutely dominant in pretty much every aspect of the game. The score flatters the Isles. Despite tying the game at one point, they were never really in it. Flames just came at them in waves offensively, and completely smothered them on defence.

And call me crazy, but I'm starting to feel comfortable with our goaltending situation heading down the stretch. Smith looks like he's rounding into form at just the right time, and we still have Big Save Dave waiting in the wings. Things are looking good all of a sudden.

Beast.

He actually should have drawn a double minor earlier in the period as well. I guess when you draw one minor on a play, you're fair game.

The Isles entire game is forecheck and puck pressure...Smith completely neutered them and saved his dmen all kinds of wear and tear on their bodies.

It's not Voodoo. It's who Czarnik is.

This is a post I made in June - before we added Lindholm, Neal, Czarnik, or Ryan:

Czarnik just fits better than Neal and really always did.
