That'd be a heckuva trade deadline deal. Would have to be between two bottom feeders. No team on the cusp would blow up their depth for an extended playoff run for just one guy.

The flu shot was something like 75% effective this year. It'd be pretty bad luck to wind up with it, as I'm sure they all got vaccinated. Or maybe he just came down with a case of pusitis.

Warning, urban dictionary...but the shoe fits...
Quote:
Pusitis is a term that is used to define athletic underachievement which is usually accompanied by a halt in training. Pusitis is a somewhat serious condition and does not currently have a vaccine, although the leading scientists are working hard to create one. Competitive athletes such as runners, cyclists, and swimmers are susceptible to pusitis. However, those with the biggest concern should be triathletes, as they combine all three sports. Pusitis may be contracted in various ways. History has shown that sore legs, common cold, and broken bike parts are the most common cause of pusitis.

I hope SmoggyFlamesFan is up-to-date on his shots. He was pretty close to Patient Zero yesterday.

Minister of propaganda stauffer gives the oilers major props for getting a point by fighting back without Patient McZero.
Apparently Kassian is now untradeable as he is the oilers 4th best forward.
Also, MoP Stauffer advises the masses that oilers are well set in management and not only may not be sellers, but are still in the playoff hunt with wiggle room.
Wonder if the tenderness’ goal for a point eventually hurts standings? Nah.

It’s always an accomplishment when you can get a single point when a team is motivated on a back to back after a loss. You have to give them props for stealing a point when the team had just played the night before so has a big edge in game readiness.
The schedule makers really stuck it to the oilers this week.

More likely holding him hostage so he can't ask for a trade.
Locked up in a doublewide undergoing rehabilitation training, Scientology style.

I want the Oilers to win the lottery now. Just think about it, it would be 5 1st overall in 10 years. Hell, only once in that span they haven't drafted in the top 10.
With their cap situation, Hughes bonuses will put them over and they will have even less space the following year due to overages. They will probably trade RNH to give Hughes the 2nd center or because it's the Oiler way, their first line will be Draisaitl, McDavid, and Hughes.

I want to see Edmonton enter the lottery exactly where they are 5th from the bottom and get bumped back in the lottery to 18th

the Oilers don't deserve yet another #1 pick.
They have already established that bench mark among all the major sports leagues: there hasn't been another team that has gotten that many #1 picks in that compressed a time frame.
Their ineptitude is magnified by the fact that 4 years after selecting a generational talent, they are serious contenders for the number 1 pick yet again.
No. They don't deserve to destroy another kid's career.

That’s not how the lottery works.
