We have depth of the left side, where would he fit and who would he replace?

Burakovsky plays either wing, I believe.

Speed, he is quite fast. Plays alot like Jankowski, more of a shooter but is some what disinterested in his own zone(sorta floats although shorthanded Janko does not float).
He does not PK though.
Here is a little strength and weakness kinda thing:
Strength:
Speed
Shot(quick and strong)
Protects puck well
Has good Ozone IQ
Weaknesses
inconsistent in d zone pressure(floats)
Does not drive the center enough(perimeter style)
Not overly aggressive
Overall he is solid, and could make a great addition to our third line. Has some edges but I think Peters could do wonders with him.

One thought about the Caps and scouting but could they be looking at Holtby? Maybe not for the deadline but as a summer move? The Capa have Samsonov coming and might be willing to move on like the Lightning did with Bishop?

Burakovsky is a guy that might need a change of scenery... presumably, he's a guy that is a "buy low" candidate, though it is debatable whether the Caps believe he is a "sell low" candidate.
i think there was concern about the Flames depth scoring and the 2nd PP unit a few weeks ago....
with the bottom 6 all picking up their game of late, this may no longer be something Calgary needs to address....
i do appreciate Flames1217 breakdown, as i think he's a player that has some untapped potential that is worth kicking the tires on

I just can't see how flames and caps make good trade partners? If the defending cup champions want to trade a player, that helped them last year win a cup, for one of our players, wouldn't we be better off keeping our player? ex Burakovsky for Frolik. I personally would want Frolik for the playoffs over Burakovsky

Burakovsky might be a buy low candidate only because this has been his worst season over the last 3 seasons at least.
But look at Burakovsky's 5v5 production over the last 3 seasons:
Andre Burakovsky
2016-19: 1.88 in 1989:43
Quality of Competition: 40
Quality of Teammates: 42
DZ Starts: 51%
Sam Bennett
2016-2019: 1.37 in 2624:19
Quality of Competition: 53rd percentile
Quality of Teammates: 48th percentile
DZ Starts: 43%
Matthew Tkachuk
2016-2019: 1.94 in 2654:19
Quality of Competition: 88th percentile
Quality of Teammates: 91st percentile
DZ Starts: 55%
Mikael Backlund:
2016-2019: 1.66 in 2888:46
Quality of Competition: 90th percentile
Quality of Teammates: 89th percentile
DZ Starts: 55%
One way to look at this is that Burakovsky has the 2nd highest rate of production at 5 v 5 while playing with the worst teammates of the group. He is playing against the worst competition of the group, but also starts more often in the defensive end than in the offensive end.
I think this is very positive.

Considering how they used two goalies last year in the playoffs, I can't see them hitching their wagon to one inexperienced goalie while trying to defend their title this season.

Caps have very little flexibility cap wise and will want to get better this year. Flames on the other hand need flexibility next year and want to invest in the future.
Caps can take on Frolik this year as he will only add around 300K to thier cap(1.1 in estimated deadline cap), caps also want a shutdown player because they see a need.
Flames however want a speedy scoring winger, another center, and depth on D(all the while not hurting our situation next year). Bura gives us a scoring winger to play in the bottom six, bump Bennett up to Frolik's spot for the playoffs when things get rough. You want a more shutdown role you throw Ryan up there. Flames dropping Frolik also gives us a little deadline cap if ever we want to take on an expiring expensive caphit(overpaid good rental) for our playoff run.
Its pretty much a win win for both teams.

Feels like a wasteful half measure move, like Czarnik or Lazar that doesn't really move your needle (though czar has had a little streak).
Heisenberg says no more half measures.

its a "tinkering at the edges" kind of move that BT spoke of...
its less risky because in theory you are giving up less assets.... it's ability to affect the team is corresponding low as a result.
personally, i'd be fine with a small move as i believe this team has good chemistry and am loathe to make too many radical changes unless you have a homerun queued up

But Frolik has another year at 4.3. Burakovsky is RFA and probably gets re-signed at his 3 he is making now. I get Flames want cap flexibility next year but so do the Caps right?
Plus put me in the boat that would rather keep Fro for this playoff run.

Am I missing something? Isn't it like 90% likely they are scouting the kings who are guaranteed sellers? Toffoli would be a great add if they'd take the 2020 2nd and change

Context. There was a prevailing argument last year in defense of Gulutzan, and to refute that his system was stifling players, that those players were proof that he wasn't (because they were playing well).
But this year, every one of them has taken a quantum leap forward in production. So pretty clearly, even though they put up seemingly good points for them (relative to prior years when they were very young), they have shown this year that last year's numbers weren't all that good after all, and that the 'Gulutzan was stifling them' argument was right all along.

Or they are just getting better. And Lindholm helped too. GG can’t be blamed for every failing from last year.

I do think as is they're poised to take care of business in round 1 effectively, beyond that I'd have concerns.
I'd like to have that extra weapon up front for peters to mix and match with in situations when we need a goal in playoffs. The top line has been shut down by some of the better teams in the last few weeks that were playing with playoff intensity and while our depth puts up a nice fight against most, those teams tend to have that "1B" line that makes us pay. 3M chips in but they don't break many tightly contested games. But they could with more skill injected there.
With our goalie tandem were still going to find ourselves needing to outscore our often average tending. If the top line is contained against a top western team were likely hooped, and having swapping Lindholm and Tkachuk as your go to blender move helps a little but lindy is still working with the mediocre skill level of backlund and frolik.
One of the tier 2 forwards won't break the bank and would be worthwhile. This is the best season we've had in my lifetime, by a country mile. I don't want to see it squandered if we can't come up with an extra goal somewhere down the line.

What do we gain by digging up his bones and absolving them of something.
Edmonton has accepted him as one of them
