			Manning is on waivers already.

Another great move by Edmonton, where the only people who thought it was a good deal work for the Oilers (and I guess the Blackhawks, because they were able to get rid of him).

Guys. I need life advice. I am currently in West Edmonton Mall and the entire oilers team is holding an autograph session from 1 to 3 PM. I am wearing my Tkachuk Jersey in a sea of copper and blue and am currently fearing my life. If looks could kill I would have already died a hundred times. How do I make it through the day with my Jersey and life intact?
Sorry to derail, mods, but this situation is too damn comical.

Just walk around there with the biggest, most smug $&@% eating grin you can muster. Nod politely at any of them that make eye contact and carry on, head up, chin out. No words required; they know.

With the return you could get for McDavid, plus drafting 1st and 32nd, you could add a bunch of talent in a hurry.

Trade RNH as well, and get a couple more prospects.

The cap floor wouldn't be a problem because you still have Draisaitl and Lucic, etc., and you can sign a vet or two in the free agent market to round it up.

You could come out of this summer with half a dozen great prospects.
 |
I think trading mcdavid is their only way out of this mess tbh, but they don't have the balls. They need to gut the roster and treat it as if it were an expansion team. The rot is too deep for anything else. Sell some more hope to the fans with some more high picks and prospects - they lap it up like nowhere else.

Luckily for us, they are incompetent enough to screw it up no matter what they do, which is great.

			Gamble on the Oilers time.
Since making the Cup Final in 2006, the Oilers have made 15 selections in the first round.

Over/Under on the average position of those picks.

The line is set at 8.5

 Place your bets.

Still amazed that the league had to change the rules for the draft order due to the Oilers winning the first overall pick too many times.
Since then, not only did they draft McDavid, but are in a really good position to get yet another first overall pick.

 Mind bottling.

Well, 4 x #1, 1x #3, and 1x#4. Basic math means the average pick of the other 10 selections has to be 12.5 or lower..My bet is that they are below 8.5 but not by much.

The Oilers will always be in a good position to get another 1st overall pick.

Slew foot anyone in a Draisaitl jersey.

Take pictures of any terrible custom name plates. I'm sure there will be many.

I might be off by a game or 2 but didn't the Ducks lose like 23 out of 25 games yet they are still 2 points up on the Oilers today? Thats an insane level of suck. E=NFG!!!!!

Trading McDavid wouldn't solve the Oiler's problems. Sure, they could get a lot of assets for him, but as long as upper management remains the same, they will continue to spin their wheels.

They can blame Chiarelli all they want (and they should), but letting the guy sign Koskinen to an extension just a couple of weeks before they fire him is absolutely a sign that the rot goes higher.

It amuses me that when I open the NHL standings page and see the Flames in second overall, I have to scroll down twice to find the Oilers. I hope LA wins tonight.
 Lol. Tupac, picture me scrollin'.

It looks like you’re a visitor at a zoo exhibit.
[man with Aussie accent] And to your left you’ll see the famed “edmontonian”. This pre-human society has been preserved due to isolation and harsh climate. Notice the key physical traits of their species, a dead giveaway for identification, sweat pants with good shoes. And of course the sloped forehead and protruding brow.
