Excellent title change - exactly my thought.
Treliving has done a very good job at team assembly.

I want to given an additional shout out to Hathaway and Mangiapane.
The 4th line has had a good February.

Ryan has been excellent of late. Kudos to him. Makes the team stronger. Doesn't change Peters has over-relied on him. I don't know why it should be a crime to question it, just like GG over-relied on Brouwer. Bpttom line, don't rely on fringe players like Ryan, rely on difference makers.

Can you outline how you think he over relies on him?

I dunno, how many 4th liners get regular PP time? Jesus Christ, this isn't rocket science.

Cripes it was a simple question asking you to expand on the statement.
In an ideal world indeed the Flames would have a better second power play option but they don’t.
So if that’s the entirety of the argument I don’t see it as over use
Next time someone asks you to simply expand on an opinion to understand maybe try just answering them

If anything Bill Peters overuse of Ryan earlier in the year makes more sense now. Obviously Peters knew what kind of player Ryan could be and he was trying to get him going.
I believe in this coaching staff, and I haven't said that since Darryl Sutter left the bench.

What edge? I stated that Ryan has been great. I also stated that Peters has over-relied upon him. Both are accurate. No edge.

Ryan is overpaid a bit in my opinion but he does play pp, pk, wins faceoffs and is a very important part of the team.

Ryan has 7 PP points in 57 games, good for 5th among this team's forwards. All have come on the second unit. the four guys ahead of him all play on the 1st unit.
Last year, the fifth leading forward PP producer on the Cup Champ Capitals was Lars Eller with 6 PP points in 81 games. Our 6th leading PP point producer Sam Bennett has as many PP points in 56 games with 6.
The year before that, Nick Bonino was fifth on the Cup Champs with 11pts in 80 games. At his 57 game mark he had 5 points on the PP.
The year before that, Chris Kunitz led the Penguins' 2nd unit with 6 PP points in 80 games.
We're complaining about Ryan on the PP why?
You could put Brandon Bollig out there on PP2 if he's gonna give us 7PP pts in 57 games from the second unit and I wouldn't complain. Our 2nd unit is respectable despite the fact that the first unit dominates the ice time.

Don't even think Ryan is overpaid. Excellent defensively, can drive a line, and on pace for, what, 35 points? $3.1 isn't half bad. I think he's Engelland all over again, but a forward. We'll end up loving him at the end of his deal

I lied about the Bollig part, I'd be pretty livid. And he would never hit 7 PP points without Gio banking shots in off his face.

Ryan is the Yelle of this era. Doesn’t have to be as gritty as Yelle but he’s fast. Both great PKers and faceoff guys who are critical to the team’s success.
