In your rage, did you miss where I said he wasn’t a bad player just a bad fit in my opinion. I’m not criticizing the player...heck, I think Neal would be a 25 goal scorer in Vegas if he were there, it’s a better fit.
Stone is, imho, similar pace to Brouwer and Neal. As opposed to Zuccarello or Tarasenko. How many times are we going to recruit this type of player and see it fail?

Rage? Personal attack?
I provide facts that refuted your assertion that he's not skilled or fast. I respected your opinion, but I think it's wrong, and it appears to me that you don't really have much to back it up.
Accusing people of personal attacks when there was no attack is a pretty hilarious straw man though.

I think you should actually take some time and watch some stone highlights, because the conclusions you're coming to seem impossible for someone who has done so to reach. Stone is more skilled than zuccarello, I say that with a lot of confidence. Probably not as fast but definitely not a cement truck like brouwer.

I missed where he said “he thought I was I was wrong”. Can you reply to this message and quote it for me ...

You’re right, telling someone “they have no idea what they’re talking about” wasnt personal.
If you read the thread, you’ll see my reasons for my opinion clearly presented. I’m not going to re-hash them

I dont mind Kypreos but he has become a bit of a caricature of an Eastern conference shill.

If Winnipeg, Nashville, or Vegas land a top tier player we will also have to grab something or risk getting left behind. Winning 1st in the division is important for the first round this year and thus for building confidence for subsequent rounds.
Stone is the top choice in my books too, but if that fails I could see us giving duchene a look. I personally dont see the upside in zuccarello anymore at all and would prefer someone like kreider or hayes from NYR.

Unless the Flames play them in the West Final it doesn't really matter....would be funny if they wasted another 1st

I think Zuccarello would give our bottom 6 a nice offensive bump, and he's deceptively tough to play against.
He's small, but he's got some jam.
He'd be a good consolation prize at the deadline I think.

Yeah, they have an embarrassment of riches at the pro and prospect level, plus their 1st rounder will likely be a little higher than ours. They can offer a superior deal that wouldn't set them back as much as it would us. Plus they have enough cap space that the deal wouldn't need to include sending salary back.
As much as Chevaldayoff used to be made fun of by some fans for rarely making trades, his patience paid off and the scouting staff has done a great job too. He is a very good GM IMO. There really isn't a bad contract on that whole team, and a few bargains.

If Stone does end up in the Peg, I hope they severely overpay the Sens.

A few weeks back 960 was having a conversation with a couple guys in the know that said that Duchene would be looking to settle down at his next destination and to have that long term stability for a family. I don't think he will be any kind of issue for whichever team he goes to, and his production pretty much nullifies that.
Considering Kreider and Hayes are 2 of the top 3 scorers on a Rangers team that is a bit starved for talent, either would cost an arm and a leg.
I think Neal will be a big factor in the playoffs and Zuccarello who is an assist machine could then be a nice boost to your third line as a strong playmaker for Jankowski and Bennett if Neal moves up due to his play.

My guess is IF BT trades for Zucarello. its for the 2nd line RW spot.

It will all matter as far as cost and contract for Winnipeg. They danced with their rental last year and it didn’t turn out as expected, so Stone will have to be locked up.
Am sure BT has a second plan, if you even want to call it that, and well may have moved on from Stone...but waiting on teams such as the Rags to figure out what offers they may have for guys.
Games MWF at home and next Sunday it Ottawa for the Flames next week. The Neal injury status may also influence things but things probably look to happen in the next few days if you want to get a jump on the deadline.

yup, and then slide Frolik down to the 4th
Tkachuk - Backlund - Zucarello
Bennett - Jankowski - Neal
Frolik - Ryan - Hathaway
every line has speed, feistiness, experience, and scoring ability.

I'm not an expert on Mats Zuccarello but he's always struck me as a Gaudreau type player, very slick but not really a checking line player. Not calling him soft but at 5'8" putting him on the Backlund line would require him to have a Marchand or Byron type defensive game... I dunno.. from those Rangers teams when they were decent I thought that role was moreso handled by other names like Kreider, Hagelin, and Miller..
