The only text I can find on TSN linking Stone to Calgary is this:
Quote:
Pierre LeBrun: We’ve talked before that the Vegas Golden Knights would be a team that would have interest in Mar Stone, the (Golden Knights assistant GM) Kelly McCrimmon connection, but what I would say is, watch out for the Calgary Flames as well.
Now Brad Treliving, the (Flames) GM, has not made any serious inquiries with all the rentals, he’s analyzing the market and trying to figure out how he’s going to game plan it, but I believe for sure that the Flames, when the time is right, if Stone is made available by the Ottawa Senators will inquire to see what it will take to get him in their lineup. So, some Canadian contenders perhaps clashing in terms of the services for Mark Stone.

I can't a single rumour on their site suggesting that the Flames have actually contacted Ottawa about Stone.

Because not everything needs to be in a megathread and real estate isn't a concern here.
Stop worrying about it.

Alright Tre, somehow get Stone and dump Neal... lol
Although TBH, I'd rather have Neal right now then Frolick. Fro has been utterly useless unless hes been benched followed by his agent whining. Bennet-Janko-Neal has been solid of late.

Haha, sure. Cause if I was looking for trade rumours on Jimmy Howard, I'd come look in the lone Mark Stone thread.
Thanks for worrying about it though.

Whoa this is a little unnecessary??
Anyways thanks for the info. It's so awesome to hear we're in on Stone. Didn't think we'd consider it at all.
I think if we bridge Tkachuk, we can sign Stone and not lose too much of our depth players, if any.

Being close to the TD I would not mind at all having a flames rumor thread instead of digging thru the non ending jabber on the on going thread.

It's not a bad idea. Traditionally speaking, it will always be difficult to get all posters to restrict their thoughts and discussion to this thread or that one. It's probably useful since there are segments of posters who prefer more focused threads and others who have no problem navigating the mega threads.
In short, there is probably room for both.

Won't speak for him but it seemed like a reply in kind.
OP's gotten flack for starting an interesting thread, one to talk about a specific pick up, a trade that could be huge. Discussing it in detail in the trade rumour thread would just throw that off topic. Calgarypuck moves at a decent rate but not quickly, right now another two threads would drop the Tampa GDT and a minor trade thread about the Canucks off the top page. Are those threads really that important?
So maybe it was a bit over the top but considering what he's replying to, seems fine.

During Tuesday night’s “Insider Trading” segment, Darren Dreger reported Jets GM Kevin “Cheveldayoff is willing to be aggressive” in the trade market and has interest in Stone. He won’t, however, give up the farm for him.
Pierre LeBrun, meanwhile, highlighted the Flames are a team extremely interested in Stone and he reports Flames GM Brad Treliving has told Dorion to call him if Stone hits the market.
|
Meanwhile, here is what was actually said:
Quote:

Just listening to today's 31 Thoughts Podcast and Friedman lists Calgary as one of 4 or 5 "big game hunters" at the trade deadline.
I could see 2019 1st, conditional 2020 2nd (if he re-signs), Frolik, and a Mangiapane level prospect (hopefully not Kylington or Andersson, I see Valimaki as untouchable) for Mark Stone.
Moving Frolik's remaining $4.3M cap for next year would go a long way to signing Stone and Tkachuk. We might need to bridge Tkachuk as well to make it all work.

Tkachuk is on pace for over 30 goals and 80 points. Yes his play is dipping at the moment, expected for a guy his age, but a bridge isn't going to save you a tonne of cash. Whatever savings you get for the next three years get removed when you try to sign him to a long term deal three summers from now.

Flames Interested in Mark Stone And Jimmy Howard thoughts ??
This might be a little far fetched but what if the flames are trying to ultimately pick up Sergei bobrovsky. Could it possibly be that Treliving is trying to make a trade with Ottawa to Acquire Mark Stone and use him as trade bait with Columbus. And if not then Jimmy Howard is the other option. I know goaltending is our main concern.
