Fun thing about tonights loss? Lindholm is in dead heat with Stamkos in the scoring race. Stammer putting up 2 points tonight keeps him ahead by 2 points. So lindholm netting 3 tonight pulls him within one. Last week at some point Lindholm was ahead of Stamkos.

Lindholm is the Flames best player...there I said it!

Scores, sets up goals, kills penalties, takes face offs when called upon. A bargain at <5 million

Proabably the most complete player on the Flames. At top line level.
Always thought he'd carve out a nice career as a Jere Lehtonin type of player but he has shown he can be much better than that. Easily my favorite Flame.

He’s really been amazing, could’ve had another shorty on his break away in the first as well. Still can’t believe the flames were able to add a player with his skill set. Yes the flames got blown out tonight but at least we don’t have to watch a cycle of plugs play on the top line with Mony and Johnny!

I came into this season expecting the Flames to suck. I can hardly be upset when a mid-season slump drops them to second in the West.

I’ve cooled down a bit. Calgary will be fine. San Jose is on a ridiculous tear right now that is completely unsustainable. They’re bound to lose a few games here. The Flames are in a funk right now, as long as they can turn it around soon I think they’ll be fine.
And stop bringing up the all star break. Every team goes through it, it’s not an excuse and it shouldn’t have any impact on anything aside from MAYBE the first game back, but even that’s a stretch.

Yeah, sober second thought - its a slump, and this team hasn't had one all year. Everyone goes through it, and thus far this one hasn't been that bad all things considered.

			some fans are hilarious...
Calgary is sitting 4th overall... and has a game in hand on the two teams who are 1 pt ahead of them the last i checked.

anyone would've been ecstatic in October if you told them calgary would be 4 overall in February... but now?

As much as the Flames didn't play well, it was much more a case of TB putting on a clinic, all cylinders firing. What a dominant PP, elite talent, phenomenal back end, coaching, etc. The list goes on. They clearly showed why they are the clear-cut #1 team in the league AINEC.
I've also pretty much given up on James Neal rounding the corner and contributing with goals. What a disaster season for him. Another scoring threat would go a loooooon way.

I'm in the same boat. After years of disappointing seasons, if you would have told me at the start of this season that the team would suffer a bad beatdown vs the TBL on Feb 12, but would still be a top 4 team OVERALL, we would be fools to not take that offer.

Wow, the Flames stunk last night an Tampa showed why they're the best team in the NHL right now. Flames need some size if they're gonna compete for the Cup. Brodie, Tkachuk, and the second line sucked so bad in that game, it's not even funny! They were doing passes in their own zone and in the neutral zones like they did in the past years and getting schooled by the Lightnings.
