Stone is proven when it comes to tough playoff hockey. Tampa can be beat they have a tougher road to the Cup final.

Time to trade for an actual stud goalie if you guys want to go deep into the playoffs.

Well this should be James Neal. He’s supposed to play a bit of a nasty prickly game with a scoring touch. We haven’t seen any of that this season.
I know people are still holding out that he’ll be a factor in the playoffs. But he needs to be a factor now. He needs to get in the hard areas and start burying his chances.
Tampa is the best team in the league because they get production from everywhere in the lineup. They have no dead weight on their cap. Neal right now is dead weight. No goals off the blade of his stick since the first month of the season is not ok from a near $6M sniper. Maybe we don’t lose to a Vancouver or a San Jose or a Washington if he pots one or 2.

I’m glad Rittich has had a few rough games. I’d rather have him work through some adversity now versus doing it for the first time in the playoffs. Selfishly, all of those late goals might help keep his next contract down — tonight was only his 5th regulation loss all year. Let that sink in for a minute.
I’m also glad Tampa is in the East — let them duke it out for three rounds and with enough luck, they’ll be tired and injured come the Finals...

Id call that a pretty big tumble.

Mikey needs to either sit for a game or two, or swapped with Bennett.
The blind passes need to stop.

Not only was this a bad showing, but I just lost my girlfriend to Donald McDonald.

For one we were talking about the Jets...for another you are cherry picking SJ
They have gained 2 points on the Flames since January and the Flames have gained ground on a home ice playoff spot

Agreed. The notion of trading for a stud goalie scares me. It'd be a waste of assets IMO.
I'd be ok with getting a backup upgrade (McElhinney or Mrazek?), but I'd rather use the assets it would take to get Bobrovsky and add a 2RW.

Not his fault but he could have been better, I have seen goalies steal more lopsided games than that

This is a good point. The cap crunch is coming and a slumping Tkachuk and Rittich does help the cap situation in a way.
It’s also true that Rittich has now only lost 5 regulation games. This team has been pretty fortunate to get such a strong season from an undrafted free agent from the Czech League in his sophomore season.
I don’t even fault the goals he let in. What could he have done on any of them. Just the best and highest scoring team doing what they do every game. This Flames team still has some work to do and some learning and experience to gain before they’re at Tampa’s level.

Goal by goal, I saw the whole thing. I don’t know what you expect is reasonably stoppable.
I have seen guys shovel grade A chances in to trappers and goalies do the around the world.
Tonight? I don’t see it

Glad to see that the Flames have a easier stretch of opponents coming up. That SJ, Van, TBL turn around was not an easy part of the schedule. All the same, the team is out of excuses its time to get their game up to speed already.

4th goal was easily stoppable...speaking of shoveling chances. Again no blaming the game on him but to say no goalie could have made that a game? come on now
Did you see the Leafs against the Rangers two days ago? I don't have to go back very far.
