Agreed. Why even try really? I'd rather they play until November 1st and call it from there

Wow. That second penalty kill of theirs was ridiculous.

More than frustrating, he is awful.
No idea why he gets PP time.
He should garner a decent return in the off season though.

That period was more frustrating than a trip to Kal tire.

That was about as out-classed as I’ve seen this team be since Gulutzan was behind the bench.
Where are lines 1 and 2?

Soft plays all over. TB just jumps on all these weak passes.
Maybe a butt whooping is needed to get them to refocus.
Losing to SJ and TB tells us this team isn't a contender.

Tampa Bay is the class of the league. No doubt about that. Intensity and skill.

Tough period to watch.
Flames are going to have to figure out navigating through the neutral zone, because right now the Lightning own that zone. No flow to the attack and continually defending because they can't get through the neutral zone.
Turnovers now getting in their heads, and you see guys second guessing the play instead of just reacting. If you have time to think about what you're going to do in the NHL, it's already too late, ESPECIALLY against a team this quick.
Make a few adjustments on the neutral zone and breakout and I guarantee you see a different game.

All I said was it would be a waist to trade a 1st round pick this year. Barring major injuries nobody is going to touch the Lighting. It's even worse for Leafs fans because they are in their window and have a lot of pressure to make noise in the playoffs.

Well. TB is who we thought they were. Down by 2 after a bi-polar 1st? I'll take it.
They can win this. I still have faith. But key players need to wake up.
And I want goaltending changed up in some form at the deadline or before. IDC. We need some freshness in net. And a middle 6 C/Winger.

Individual games don't actually say much of anything beyond what happened in the moment. It's a long season.

They are forechecking harder than us. Every Lightning player is finishing his check and you don’t see anyone gliding back into the D zone with one hand on his stick
Every bottom 6 player on their team is playing like Hathaway and that’s why they are firing so many turnovers

With Tampa's killer forecheck, does anyone think that Smiths stick handling might help in a situation like this?

Man a few lines have just been dummied for the majority of that first, against a very solid team Peters is gonna have to shorten and blend earlier then usual me thinks.

What does 3 losses in 4 games say?

And who knows what happens by the time the finals roll around
